Giving the correct information as a tour guide is really important because people trust you to give them correct information about the place they’re visiting. If you say something wrong it can confuse them or even make them think they can’t trust anything else you say. But when you give accurate information it makes the tour more interesting and people are more likely to have a good understanding of the location

LA - Good points however, missed opportunity to mention what could happen if tour guides fail to provide accurate information.

As a tour guide you have to stay alert to any to any dangers around you like uneven paths traffic or anything that could trip people up. You need to keep an eye on the group to make sure no one’s in a risk of causing harm to themselves or to the group someone getting too close to a busy road or not paying attention to their surroundings this is why you as a tour guide should tell the people who you are taking on a tour to wear the appropriate footwear It’s your job to see hazards before they become a problem and make sure everyone stays safe while having a good time.

LA - LO1

Personal appearance as a tour guide is really important because it helps make a good first impression When you look well dressed and professional people will trust you and take you seriously. It shows you care about your job and respect the people you’re guiding. if you’re dressed wearing comfortable shoes for walking or clothes for the weather it shows you’re prepared and ready which gives the people who are going on the tour a sense of re insurance that this person knows what they are doing.

There are two different types of commentary’s, these are fixed route and interpretive commentary. A fixed route commentary is where it’s the same every time and the

People on the tour will get the same experience. However, this means that sometimes, people may want to spend time at other places of interest but due to having to move on this can’t always happen. It also means that people may miss out on places they want to see or not spend time at places they want to look at for longer. This is different to an interactive commentary is where a commentary can change depending on the group of people that the guide has. The good thing about this type of tour is that if anyone has any questions they can ask the tour guide

LA - You have provided some good information for the different types of guided tours.

Well done Musa, you have been able to briefly describe the role of a tour guide. You have mentioned some good points however, there were areas that I felt that you could have expanded on (see comments on your work). You have mentioned some good references however, it is important to compile a list of sources and include all the sources to help you with an assignment. If you refer back to the assignment brief you will be able to see a list of recommended sources you can use to help you future assignments. You have achieved a pass for this assignment.
