the most significant cause of the Revolutionary War was that Britain could not efficiently run the colonies from such a far distance. An example of this is Thomas Paines pamphlet "common sense", in this pamphlet he states that it is preposterous for a small island nation such as Britain to control such a large amount of land at such a large distance away. It is very important to not that it took about a 6 month trip by boat to get to the colonies. Which caused the colonies to feel essentially free because no laws told them otherwise, so when King George III put in new acts and laws without the colonies permission they revolted. the colonies did this because they were used to the old ways of "pure freedom".

The most significant cause of the American Revolution was the Parliament's control over the colonies and their society. The British Parliament was involved in every aspect of America's colonies, from changing their taxes and trade systems with the Intolerable Acts to occupying their land by bringing troops to their territory. This was the most significant cause of the Revolution because it kept America's colonies from expanding as they wished to, and kept them from achieving their ultimate goal of freedom.

When Britain taxed the colonists for the weapon costs in The French and Indian war that the colonists wanted no part of; but they were forced to pay without any representation by the colonists to disallow the taxes to go through, this made the colonists very upset. The colonies had tried to redress their grievances in 1775 through the creation of the Olive Branch Petition, which the king dismissed. This is the most significant becuase it caused the colonies to not want the British to rule and have all of hte power over what they do. They show this by wanting ti become independent a lot more than they did before. They did not want the British to waste money the way they did and in the end they ended up taxing the colonists even though they did not agree with them
