She excelled as a fundraiser in this capacity, raising $23 million for a facility expansion and increasing government support by $7 million, and continues to provide fundraising technical support in her work as an organizational consultant. Public health systems, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO), encompass all organizations, individuals, and actions whose fundamental goal is to promote, restore, or preserve health. This encompasses both indirect preventive and therapeutic interventions, as well as attempts to optimize the delivery of health services. Successful health promotion also includes maintenance of functional health information system, promulgation of an efficient health workforce, and equal access to essential medical products, technologies, and vaccines. Adequate financing, leadership, and governance are critical components to developing solid public health initiatives. Health system strengthening is broadly defined as actions aimed at improving a country’s ability to successfully execute the key duties outlined by the World Health Organization.
