A Stolen Life: A Memoir by Jaycee Lee Dugard

This book is written about a girl who was abducted at the age of 11, and kept by her kidnapper for 18 years. She talks about what her life was like while living with her kidnappers and how she was treated. It's a true story, as the author is the one who experienced it. This book was definitely more mature than I'm used to, as it goes into graphic detail about what happened to her. Despite that, this was one of the most interesting and intriguing books I've read, I even finished it in 3 days.

Desperate for a job to help support her family, she gets hired as a caretaker for a disabled man. Will, the man she is taking care of, was a stubborn and rude quadriplegic. In her beginning months, her and Will did not get along at all. Their friendship soon began to blossom and they slowly fell in love with each other. Finding out shocking news about Will puts a bump in their relationship and leaves Louisa struggling to try and change his mind. I watched the movie first and thought the book was even better. I really enjoyed reading this because it was really funny and also sad at the same time.

This was an interesting book and I don't really like mysteries but I found this one pretty engaging.
