"I am still a little afraid of missing something if I forget that, as my father snobbishly suggested, and I snobbishly repeat, a sense of the fundamental decencies is parceled out unequally at birth."
This quote was from Nick explaining that money isn't the only thing that some people are born to. Some people are nicer then others and have more "sense of the fundamental decencies" then others when you are born with better mannerly delivery and approach.

"I told that boy about the ice." Myrtle raised her eyebrows in despair at the shiftlessness of the lower orders. "These people! You have to keep after them all the time."

She looked at me and laughed pointlessly..."
I like this quote because it shows how women tried to fancy themselves by acting rude and making it seem like they are a hot shot. Like myrtle in that quote tried to make her self seem big and fancy by acting snobby.

"I'm Gatsby"(48) I like this quote because it demonstrates Gatsby's Confidence when he is introducing himself, with a Blunt say of who he is, just like something I would do.

"When I said you were a friend of Tom's, he started to abandon the whole idea. He doesn't know very much about Tom, though he says he's read a Chicago paper for years just on the chance of catching a glimpse of Daisy's name."

This quote shows Gatsby's obsession for Daisy and how he is willing to be a sort of detective looking into news paper and finding other information to know where she is to find her.

"Suddenly, with a strained sound, Daisy bent her head into the shirts and began to cry stormily."

"They're such beautiful shirts," she sobbed, her voice muffled in the think folds. "It makes me sad because I've never seen such – such beautiful shirts before."
I love this quote, because it was one of the biggest scenes in the book when Gatsby and Daisy finally meet, she began to cry because of his wealth and her falling in love with Gatsby. Joyfully crying.

"He wanted nothing less of Daisy than that she should go to Tom and say: "I never loved you." This quote is so significant because Gatsby was thinking outlandish wanting Daisy to absolutely disregard Tom's emotions and their relationship that they had which she couldn't do. She couldn't forget about the past and be delusional as Gatsby wanted.

'He nodded sagely. "And what's more, I love Daisy too. Once in a while I go off on a spree and make a fool of myself, but I always come back, and in my heart I love her all the time." This quote is good because it goes into depth about Tom's unloyalty to women, thinking that it is okay to be an adulterer.

I don't think she ever loved him." Gatsby turned around from a window and looked at me challengingly. "You must remember, old sport, she was very excited this afternoon. He told her those things in a way that frightened her – that made it look as if I was some kind of cheap sharper. And the result was she hardly knew what she was saying." Gatsby tries to rewrite the past and make things work on his time and this is his problem this is why he doesn't seem to actually be happy or trust people because of him being in-denial to all things.

I called up Daisy half an hour after we found him, called her instinctively and without hesitation. But she and Tom had gone away early that afternoon, and taken baggage with them.

"Left no address?"

"No."

"Say when they'd be back?"

"No."

"Any idea where they are? How I could reach them?"

"I don't know. Can't say."
This is one of the best quotes in the book because after Gatsby's death Tom and Daisy fled, showing no remorse or care for Gatsby, especially Daisy which is sad. They use their wealth to their advantage to run away and flea from situations they don't like. This shows that money can't buy you love but it is the key to a whole bunch of other things.
