Week 1

This week, I ended up missing classes because it was the first week of school and I was still getting lost on campus, so I didn't catch the topic taught in the classroom. However, as a contribution, I had to read 2 articles in English about my research related to my course. I study Animal Science, and I'm developing a project in the Chapada Diamantina region with the aim of analyzing native plants that can be used for animal feed. This way, rural producers can be more sustainable. I'm in the process of developing my thesis, and it has been quite challenging with so many articles in English. I won't even tell you how difficult it was.

Week 2

I have been learning how to use quantity expressions in sentences, which was difficult at first, but I am improving. This week, writing a text in class was a great challenge for me. Writing and speaking have always been difficult, but I am working on it. Despite the difficulties, I am determined to improve. Every obstacle I overcome brings me closer to my goals. Even though it is difficult sometimes, I am not giving up. I am eager to continue learning and growing. In conclusion, this week had its challenges, but it was also a time of learning and progress. With determination, I will continue advancing in my academic journey.

Week 3

I didn't know how to ask questions using indirect wh-questions, and I learned that this week. So far, it has been one of the most challenging topics. In this unit, I have noticed that the subjects we are dealing with are becoming increasingly complex, but with practice in the classroom, I have started to develop my English better. I still need to think a lot to formulate a sentence, but over time, I am managing. The teacher asked us to write a lot, and so far, that has been the hardest part, but I love a challenge.

Week 4

This week, we did an activity choosing houses to live in and discussed it, bringing adjectives for the houses and defending which houses we would like to live in. In this class, I spoke a lot in English. I dare say it was the class where I spoke the most in English, perhaps because there were few people in the room and I sat next to a classmate who was very participative. In the end, I wrote about the house I chose and explained why I chose it. Additionally, the teacher posted connectors on the classroom, and I spent the week dedicating myself to studying how to use connectors in texts. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Week 5

One of the topics I recently studied was the correct use of 'have' and 'has' in English. It was more of a review because I already knew and could use this subject.

Furthermore, I decided to explore the world of cooking in English. I found it to be a fun way to expand my vocabulary and practice the language in a practical manner. I researched and learned about different dishes and ingredients, and finally, I wrote a recipe for Brazilian cheese bread in English. I carefully followed each step of the recipe, mixing tapioca flour, cheese, and eggs until I achieved a homogeneous dough. Then, I baked them in the oven until they were golden and slightly crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.

Although it was challenging, each obstacle overcome brought me closer to my goal of mastering the English language. Even in moments when the task seemed difficult, I did not give up. I am eager to continue learning and growing in this linguistic journey.

In summary, this week was marked by challenges, but it was also a period of significant learning and progress. With determination and perseverance, I know I will continue to advance in my academic and linguistic journey.
