As I observed my pupils like experiment making , project making or something that they will discover by manipulating some materials or gadget. Learning by doing  really matters on them. You can observe their 99% participation even the slow learner pupils awaken their senses on what they are doing. One thing  that catch their attention is when a lesson opener is in form of a game . Outdoor activities interest them most also . They like things that they can explore more and discover something. They don’t just want to know the theory of something, but they want to make them express their ideas, brainstorm other ideas, and explain what they feel and discover. So, our learners of today want exposure to materials and real object present in their environment. Therefore , our pupils now a days need experiences wherein they can find their own solution  for a certain issue so as  develop their higher thinking skills.

Dislikes

Listening to a plain lecture feel my pupils bored. Some feels sleepy as in they are listening to a bedtime story. They are not interested to listen and what they did  is  creating noise , and destruction that result to have an unorderly class encounter between the teacher and the pupils. They are not happy just sitting in their place without manipulating something.

1. Watching video aided instructions

Many of my learners have an auditory and visual learning style. They learn more if they see images, graphics, colorful pictures, or even maps. They easily communicate with their ideas and thoughts.

2. They liked  group activities

Ex. Each group will be given different activities like acting out, role play, create a song, make a rap, create a comic strip, and others. 

My learners liked to do something wherein they can move freely, express themselves through varied activities like mention above. 

Children love to do physical activities rather than just sitting and listening to lectures.  

What they didn't like:

1.       plain lecture without any visual materials or any instructional material

Example: Present the lesson by just presenting it using the traditional manila paper or board work.

They didn't like that traditional way of teaching, they didn't like to just sit there and just listen to the teacher and look at the manila paper as the teacher explains the lesson or as the teacher write something on the board. Interaction in that case is lesser. Learners nowadays have a kinesthetic learning style wherein they learn from doing. They can absorb easily through touch and feel something if there is movement,  rather than listening or just watching demonstrations. But of course using manila paper and blackboard is not yet abolished because there are times that teachers need to use them but not all the time.
2.       Giving too much Homework
It was very evident before that my learners didn't want to have many assignments, especially when all the subjects have assignments to do for the day. The result was some of them go to school with no assignment.

Physical games like twister before the lesson to help them strengthen their muscles

Children nowadays has a short attention span and are known to lose interest in anything they do except the bright ones. So, they don’t like the lesson without interactive games specially the academically challenge ones. They don’t respond well during discussion. 

 

 

 

-Group works- can make their study more efficient and fun

-Hands on Activities-It allows them to experiment with trial and error, learn from their mistakes.

-Role playing-They have the opportunity to act out a variety of situations, role-playing teaches children they can be anything they choose.

-Outside activities-They want practice skills like batting, kicking and catching — whichever they need for the sports they’re learning.

- Graded Oral Recitation-Pupils feel nervous when teachers call their names & answer the questions that they don’t know the answer.

-Solving Mathematical Problems- This requires a lot of thinking. They don’t have patience to think and solve math problems.

-Writing too much- For many students, writing requires too much extra effort. Reality check: any major breakthrough in brain development takes extra effort.

-Reporting- Pupils are too shy in front of the class

They are not happy just sitting in their place without manipulating something and Mathemtics subject is the most difficult subject so they are not interested.they find difficult to solve,Solving problem feel my pupils bored. 

There is nothing “normal” or “routine” about this academic year. Because of the pandemic. I believe that there's no student like this kind of situations or set up, from a normal face to face classes to a new normal online classes. In this pandemic, many students has been affected their mental health in answering modules, there are news that there are students who had suicide because they've been pressured in answering modules. It feels like there’s more pressure to want to stay silent and even if you do ask for help, most questions are not fully answered due to the lack of the in-person and hands-on experience. Another problems or difficulties of the students was the poor Internet connection, they've been suffering from these instances, many of them was being frustrated and can't focus on their online classes. Online school was confusing to adjust to as we had not been prepared through simulations or practices beforehand. Students reported the home-learning program to be even more stressful than regular classrooms. Some of the common reasons for this went along the lines of: "Normal classes may have been difficult, but having friends makes it so much more manageable and less stressful. Online classes take out the benefits of having friends to socialize with and being stuck alone with nothing but assignments."
