For this tiny sculpture (it's about the size of my hand) I just thought it would be a fun project to work on. There's not much emotivity behind it or any sort of deep meaning other than me liking this goofy Japanese spirit. Nuppeppo is a stinky, wondering entity that does nothing much other than walk around and scare people away with its putrid odor. The harmless nature and silly appearence of this spirit is what really made me want to sculpt it. I'm a simple girl who likes silly things.
I had been working on this art project before, for an art class, but I never got to actually finish it. I found this a great opportunity to finally wrap up this project, and I'm so happy I did it because I am delighted with the results and I loved every step of the process while I was working on it.
As for this activity, I think it was amazing to have had the chance of working on different things and see the creativity of everyone in our class. It's always nice to discover that some of your classmates are insanely talented.

This piece of art is an illustration regarding my feelings about all my journey in Colombo's English course. The materials I used was watercolor and an average pencil to sketch. I think art is an important medium to be in contact with ourselves. In fact, that is the reason why in my illustration I wanted to represent four emotions that I felt throughout the course, specially at the beginning. Here you can find the representation of four emotions or sensations, from left to right: frustration, curiosity, satisfaction and motivation. First one, it is relative to do not know what to expect, fearing the unknow. But having overcome that I was feeling like a bookworm at some point. Thus, for the second emotion I decided to represent curiosity. Maybe I am not always studied with Wide Angle, that it could be difficult to understand, but with other media on internet. I felt curious because finally I had a good English teacher and constantly I was seeing the reflection of every lesson in the daily entertainment I use to consumed. Working like if my payment depends on it, it was leaving its fruits. So that, I was feeling great, like I can handled every movie in English or every conversation; I had lost the anxiety of talk in English and making mistakes. Consequently, I was feeling satisfaction because those good emotions on my mind. As good as left the dishwasher empty, as good as when teacher let us know that there is not class on Monday, well, I know you got me. Having saying that, I understood that I have to find my own motivation if I want to keep that sensation, so that, I decided to looking forward and I drew a character searching for more knowledge, figuring out how to studied by her own, despite the fact that there is and there will be a lot of situations to pay attention in the daily basis. Finally, my emotions relate with the project and my classmates' work are diverse. I think that it is very interesting to have to explain an art create by yourself not just for the new vocabulary but also because it allows you to perceive your work in a different way. Also, my classmates did an amazing job. They all different and we can see that in their piece of art. I am completely sure that we can know better each other just for that exercise!

This is my art project, these are sketches of different textures. I am learning on how to make digital art and I decided to continue my process, as you see is not complete yet, and for class I drew the last two textures, the poke ball and the cristal ball. I’ve always liked to draw and now I want to improve my skills in digital art.

I liked the activity because I could make a progress on it, I’ve been working on this sketches for almost 6 months, not because it is difficult to do, it is because sometimes I forget to continue my project. However, I have learned a lot on how to make digital draws and different tips for improving my knowledge.

I had always drawn and painted on paper, until I had the opportunity to get an iPad, since that moment I got into digital art, and it have work a lot for me, thus, I have a lot of manners to draw in only one element. Each of this textures took me around 1 hr-2 hr and I've learned by watching YouTube tutorials

This activity shows the abilities of my classmates in different aspects, the message that I keep, is that art doesn’t mean to be ‘beautiful’ or ‘perfect’ all of us made something according to our capacities, and it was something where everyone did an effort with a lot of creativity :)

So, this is my art project, called Do stars dream of friendly astronauts? I made a fanzine, a non-official and non-professional publication. Usually, the idea is to explore a cultural phenomenon [such as art, feminism, motherhood, activism, and goes on], but in a cheaper and more creative way. In my case, I chose to make a fanzine because I really enjoy working on paper, there are a lot of types of paper, folding and printing. First, I had computerized the book [on Illustrator], and then I prepared the document to go to print it. It was printed by a laser machine, due to the use of the black color. After that, I started folding the paper with a technique called “ruana” or “pancho”. The result was a little book that looks like a blanket with an opening in the middle. The story is about a star seeing an astronaut and then they collide. I believe that it is a fast read, but also a cliff-hanger. Makes you think about your own existence.

About my impressions of my classmates’ projects, I was really shocked. They were too creative, and I could see their effort making it. Many of them were poignant and with deep messages about different topics. To be honest, I had felt very proud during the class, because I had been seeing how people still put a part of their soul into art. It was charming for me. And well, to finish, I felt comfortable making my own project, and also, I found it useful on account of the new words that I learned. If I could describe my whole experience with only one sentence, I would dare to say: I felt just like flying through the universes of my classmates.

The idea of this art project was to try to bring out three different scenarios, it is drawn with pencil, colors and metallic markers. The point was to illustrate life from the outside to the inside. The upper right represents space, the whole universe out there; the rural landscape represents the Earth; and the bottom left represents the Earth's core, lava.
I wanted to be able to represent life in its different colors. The huge tree is symbolic, it represents life in general, the life that is on the Earth, and I decided to go with this landscape because personally I love this kind of places, they are so peaceful and you can be at calm. I believe that to be able to be surrounded by nature it makes a person to connect with their inner peace.
Also, I wanted to put a personal meaning, for me trees are the most majestic living beings. I am the type of person that when is around nature loves to hug trees, I'm a tree hug person, I feel comfortable around them and that is why I decided to draw a huge tree with a wide trunk to show their strength.

I am not an artistic person, I don't consider myself as a creative person, and for this reason for me it was a challenge to do this activity because I wanted to be able to convey the vision I had and at first I was struggling with it. At the end I felt happy and contented with the result, maybe I did not handle drawing techniques because I do not know how to make use of them, but when showing it to my classmates I felt delighted to have received good comments about it. With this task I understood that art can show people a part of themselves, and somehow that’s what I also noticed in my classmates' art projects, they are really creative and it was seen that they put their total dedication and personal touch into their work. Although I did not see all of them, those I had the opportunity to see made me feel joy.

I really loved this activity, it was a way to finish an art project I had as a sketch a long time ago, and also to have the opportunity to get to know better my classmates through their art.

One of the first words that came to my mind when I was thinking on the purpose of the project was new beginnings, reconnections and freedom, so, instead of following the first sketches that I had made before, and kept worried about coloring under the line, I preferred to experiment freely with different brushes, colors and shapes, in some way reconnecting with my thoughts and creativity that were hidden from long ago. I like the fact that, even if the result could seem a little full of elements or colors, It represented a good time of reflection and gave me the excuse to get out of the grids and routinized activities. In that way, the illustration turned into a sacred place, an imaginary garden to get connected with nature and ideas that are usually floating around. Also, I found that It would be grand to go back into creative activities such as illustration or painting, getting more involved in the process than just being a spectator as I was doing.
About the activity, I enjoyed enormously all my classmate's concepts, the different expressions to illustrate themselves, their thoughts, and how us as viewers could develop diverse ideas and found hidden meanings that each piece could communicate, also how dedicated they were, experimenting and learning new techniques, using all kind of formats and showing a part of them in each project, it really inspired me and made me understand them a little bit better.

This is a representation of the poison dart frog or poison arrow frog, which is endemic to the rainforests of Colombia and the Amazon, is in danger of extinction and is likely the most poisonous animal on the planet. It took me almost 3 or 4 hours and it is made of plasticine. Feelings like anger and sadness came to my mind while I was making it because I can't imagine how a tiny dangerous criature could be so vulnerable. I put all my effort and dedication because it seemed to me a significant reason to show the world the importance of species conservation and the fact that we have destroyed their habitats and our own natural resources. Moreover, after the class I felt happy to know that I could be able to have helped people to become aware the harm that we as human beings do throughout this artwork.
Having done this project I was able to realize that it is possible to reconnect with my creativity that I thought I had lost many years ago, also was fun and felt so much satisfaction when I completed it.

As photography has been one of my passions since I was a teenager, I decided to work on this project called “Perspectives”. For that, I chose an unusual but interesting place: the residential complex in which I live, in Bogotá. I wanted to take advantage of the different structures and shapes of the buildings that belong to the place. My main objective was to evoke new (and maybe irreal) spaces. To achieve this, I explored shots from different angles (specially low-angle shot and nadir shot which are very used in architectural photography) and framings, in different times of the day (in the morning, at midday and at sunset).

Overall, it was very interesting to have done this activity, since I have been a lot into different kinds of art for years. Besides, learning English is not only about grammar and grades, but also about having fun, and I consider this type of activities really get it done. I felt relaxed and at the same time motivated when it came to developing my creativity. As for my classmates, I really enjoyed seeing the wide variety of art in their projects. I felt very proud of their talent, getting to know with that, more about their skills and somehow more about their personalities. I had so much fun when I saw my classmates turn their heads while they were staring at my photos 😂. I would definitely like to experience this type of tasks again. 💙

A few days after starting the mural, in class we were told that we had to present an art project, so I thought that I could combine both activities.
The project is inspired by Japanese culture, which I liked when I was a child and which my brother loves now, inspired by a character named Itachi from the first anime we saw, who has these dark vibes and is associated with the colors that we use in the mural, red and black.
I liked the activity, I never imagined doing something like that studying english, I found it relaxing and fun to do something different from what we normally do in class as a project, it motivated me more to do a better project than I had planned with my brother.

For this reason, this ecological work of art is created to make everyone more aware.
Doing this activity was very interesting since in my case at first I was worried because I'm bad at crafts, however when I thought about what to do, it came to my mind to do something with recyclable materials and garbage that we have around us every day and for that reason I felt very good when I presented it in front of my classmates. I was able to show that doing this activity serves to de-stress and connect with oneself alone, also during the exercise I was able to use all the grammar that we are seeing in class.
Finally, I feel very motivated to continue carrying out these types of activities and be able to relate them to my professional career. The first, crochet is a skill that I have wanted to learn for a long time, I find quite magnificent what can be done from it, especially amigurumis ( the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures) that the bigger, the more charming they are.

The second reason is, that after finishing it, I wanted to give it to my cousin who loves stuffed animals (he is still a small child), the sea and most of all turtles, I thought and I think that it is something that he would like a lot, but having seen that it turned out as cute as a button, I am seriously considering keeping it for myself (I will see).

Making the turtle took me about 4 (dashed) hours. I used white and red wine plush yarn, which is a yarn with a texture similar to stuffed animals, so that it would be as soft as cotton to the touch. In my opinion, in a certain way the process was somewhat complex because sometimes I really did not know how to continue or in which stitch to knit (sometimes they were so tiny), however, I am quite satisfied with the result.

Finally, and regarding the activity, it was something very appealing and surprising. I really enjoyed seeing the works of my classmates, knowing the deep (and poignant) meaning behind some of them and realizing that many of them are exceptionally talented and original. I can say that for the most part they conveyed some feeling to me and even brought back as good as gold memories.

I used to have a cat almost 10 years ago, she is the last pets I have had and I want to trying represented her by making a draw. I have been interested into drawing so I was looking to improve my skills and in this particular case improve water colors, by the way this draw was done with regular pencil colors, I hope to improve mi skills in the future and then try with real water colors.
On the other side, about the activity in general I had found that this type of activities may be a very creative way for approaching the topics in the class and interact with our fellows and even the teacher. I enjoyed the activity and noticed how talented the people in our group could be.

The Storm - Mariana's Art Project

The storm is all that I felt in that dark times, as I call it.
The inspiration behind this sculpture is a drawing or a sketch I did as homework in 2020. My philosophy teacher told us to make something that represents our emotions, so I got some ideas from Pinterest and this kind of drawing called ''Line draw''. That year was a little bit difficult for me because of the impact of being like a virtual school. Thanks to God all my family was protected from Covid but everything that was happening in the world was very alarming. The thing was that I had always stood out for being an excellent student, but I didn't adapt to that new style, I couldn't find myself and felt lost. Besides, I didn't know how to express all these feelings it was a knot of thinking and emotions. Frustration, stress, dissatisfaction, sadness, overthinking, pressure, and discouragement were the sensations that were overwhelming me and created this giant cloud with rays and thunders over my head. This sculpture represents everything said before.
To conclude, I would say that without that state, I wouldn't learn and understood many facts in my life. Right now I'm blooming and still discovering myself. My advice is to take your time to heal but don't still forever on the storm.

I value the activity. I liked how each of my classmates artistically express themselves and their ideas, they are very talented and their messages were deep and interesting. I enjoyed doing this project, I had fun doing it with my sister, was relaxing and poignant. Something out of the routine.

This drawing was intended to be a recreation of a photo I took of my cat when she was about four months old. The reasons why I chose to draw my cat are: first, I've always liked drawing animals of any kind and second I had never drawn a picture of her before, so when we were told to do an art project, the first thing I thought of was to draw Chloe. At first I tried to follow a series of steps I had seen on instagram, but the cardboard I was using didn't work well for blurring the charcoal pencil and pastels. So I ended up doing something completely different, but at that point I started to enjoy the process more because I was no longer worried about what the result was going to look like, I just wanted to have fun in the process and with that in mind I painted a more colorful version of Chloe, in other words I highlightled her colors that in real life are light.
I have to say that I loved the talent and unique perspective that each of my classmates had in creating their art project. I think we all enjoyed this activity and got to know a new side of each other. Finally, I believe this project gave us the opportunity to get out of routine to do something pleasant, for example I used to enjoy drawing a lot when I was in school and nowadays I rarely spend time drawing so I consider this was a reminder of why we shouldn't give up our hobbies.
