Hi everyone, my name is rachel carter I’m 19 years old and currently double majoring in Biology and Business. I graduated in 2024 from John B. Connolly High School. My career goal is to become a veterinarian and eventually own my own practice. I’m taking this History 2 class as a requirement, but I’m also excited to learn some new things and gain a broader perspective outside of my main fields of study.

Outside of school, I spend a lot of my time caring for animals on different farms, which has strengthened my passion for working with them and pursuing veterinary medicine. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and trying new foods whenever I get the chance. Exploring nature is something I really value, whether it’s being outdoors or discovering new places. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with friends, which helps me balance school, work, and personal life.

Horses

In my spare time, I enjoy working with horses and helping care for them. I spend time feeding them, grooming, cleaning, and making sure they are comfortable and healthy. I have also had the opportunity to observe veterinarians at work, which has given me valuable insight into animal health and treatment. Along with basic care, I help walk and exercise the horses, and I am involved in their training. This hands-on experience has deepened my passion for animals and strengthened my interest in pursuing a career as a veterinarian.
