Although the link I have attached is not in a higher ranking, it does not diminish its value. This is actually an chapter from a book. This is actually an excerpt from a book that discusses technology behavior and breaks up digital citizenship into 9 principles. As developing adults, it is important that we exemplify proper behavior regarding digital citizenship in hope that it carries over into the generations ahead. Before creating a more friendly and professional online environment we must learn and teach these principles. It is in everything we do.

Coming in at #4 we have an article that discusses the way to deal with online predators. Most children are taught the concept of "Stranger Danger," but as soon as they open up their devices that principle flies out the window. It can be just as dangerous to speak with online predators as it is in person. The biggest issue is that you never know who you're really speaking to. The article discusses ways to identify possible predators and how to keep yourself safe when dealing with them online.

At number #3 we have an article titled, "How to be nice on the internet." It is so easy to look at a screen and feel disconnected from the idea that there are actually millions of other people behind it. Your words have the ability to brighten someone's day or destroy it. As you enjoy an online space, it is important to remember that although we may not physically see the people we interact with, our words effect them.

At a close second, we have an article from commonsense media that discusses the importance of privacy on the internet. While the article is aimed towards parents, it is equally as valuable for students because it runs through a variety of questions to ask yourself in regards to privacy and explains the importance/consequences of ensuring so. There are many aspects to digital citizenship but I believe that being safe and private to protect your finances, reputation, etc. are often something we tend to forget while using media. If you don't learn this now, your privacy may be invaded and taken advantage of before you know it: it could change your life.

This article covers virtually everything you may need to know about how to be a good digital citizen: providing all of the do's and don'ts. This is the most valuable article out of the 5 because it discusses all areas of digital citizenship. To truly understand the ins and outs of exemplifying appropriate digital citizenship this article is the most useful.
