Cyberbullying is a common type of inequality in the Philippines. Even though social media has many good effects on the country, it is also used to spread hate and discrimination. People from the LGBTQ+ community, like gays and lesbians, often don’t get equal respect and are treated unfairly online. Many people quickly judge them because they believe that there should only be two genders—male and female. While the Philippines is becoming more open to different genders, there are still many who do not accept them.

This also shows inequality when it comes to physical appearance. People who are considered good-looking often get more compliments, while those who are not are judged and insulted. These hurtful comments can affect their confidence and make them feel less worthy as human beings.

Technology in the Philippines has both increased inequality and helped create a fairer society.

On one hand, it has increased inequality because not everyone has equal access to gadgets, internet connection, or digital skills. Many poor families, especially in rural areas, struggle to join online classes or apply for online jobs because of slow internet and lack of devices. This “digital divide” makes it harder for them to keep up with education and opportunities that others easily get.

On the other hand, technology has also helped create a fairer society by giving people new ways to learn, work, and connect. Through social media, people can express their voices and raise awareness about social issues. Online platforms like GCash, Shopee, TikTok, and freelancing sites allow Filipinos to earn money and build small businesses. Technology also helps students study through free online lessons and information.

The project will be an online platform accessible via the web and mobile applications, offering classes, homework, and materials that complement the school curriculum, focusing on critical thinking and preparation for high-level exams. The project will include a module enabling public-school teachers to access courses led by partner educators, focusing on new teaching methodologies and technological tools.

The platform will be organized into recorded video lessons with homework, digital booklets, practice tests, and discussion forums, covering various subjects from Elementary and High School. It will also use Artificial Intelligence to suggest content and exercises based on each student’s performance and individual needs. The design will prioritize usability (UX) and optimization for devices with low connectivity and limited hardware.

The project requires a strong partnership between private institutions, education departments, and technology companies to ensure content curation and the platform’s long-term sustainability, representing a crucial step toward reducing educational inequality in the country.
