These people relate to a supernatural aid because they helped me become more prepared for my quest of high school. They helped me know what it was like and how classes worked. With their help, I felt more at ease with the adventure awaiting and I was prepared for what was to come.

The threshold guardians are people who are the hero’s first challenge on the start to the quest. These people are quite easily defeated and give the hero confidence for the harder things he will later face on the quest.

My threshold guardian of nervousness for high school is similar to the archetype of threshold guardians because it was my first “challenge” of my adventure to high school. Also, the challenge I faced was relatively easy to overcome, just like threshold guardians are easy to defeat.

The threshold is the crossing point for the hero from the known world into the unknown world.

The threshold for me was the first day of high school, when I had gotten out of the car from carpool and took my first step onto the new campus.

The first day of school relates to the threshold in the hero’s journey because the threshold is the crossing to the unknown world and high school was definitely an unknown place for me. When I stepped into the school, it marked my first step into my new adventure.

For me, the return was the start of winter break. I had completed my first semester of high school and learned many new skills. I had grown a lot academically and socially at school and got to return back to having no school and having a break like it was during summer before high school.

This relates the the return in a hero’s journey because the return means going back to the known world after a quest and I returned back to home and having a break after going on the quest of the first semester of high school. Usually after returning, the hero has grown in some way and I grew greatly in my academics over the course of my “quest”.
