The grasslands receive warmer temperatures during the summer months of July and August. The rainfall is at its peak during September.

In the grasslands the majority of biotic factors include grasses and the sparse amounts of trees that are located in this biome. There aren't as many trees in this biome because either the climate is too dry or the soil in the area is too poor. Another biotic factor are the animals that feed on these grasses. In the Kazakhstan Grassland, there are many specific biotic factors. This includes special bird species like black and white winged larks.

Within the grasslands, there are many abiotic, or non-living factors that can help and or hurt the biotic, or living organisms in this biome. Some of these abiotic factors include the soil, which is very rich, and brings important nutrients to the grasses and then animals. Another abiotic factor of the grasslands is the amount of annual rainfall. Grasslands receive enough rainfall in order to a sufficient amount of vegetation to grow and for the biome not to be desert-like, but not too much to transform the grasslands into a rain forest. However, there is not enough annual rainfall in order for trees to grow, which is why the grassland is different from the savanna.

The Estimated Productivity of the grasslands is 2,000 kilocalories per square meter annually, and 6 kilocalories per square daily.

Economic Values:
Some important economic values of the grasslands, or possibly the most important, is the amount of farm land that is offered by the tree-less property. Another economic benefit of the grassland is the soil, which brings a lot of economic opportunities to the GHP.

Ecological Values:
There are also a few important ecological values that the grasslands provide for humans, and other organisms. One of the most important ecological value is that the grasslands provide plenty of food for certain animals that cannot eat another food source such as buffalo and steers who graze on the abundant grass.
