Species richness is just the total number of different species in an area. It doesn't matter what the population size of each species is

Species evenness takes into account if the relative amount of these species is balanced. So there could be 3 total species, but 100 of one, 50 of one, and 2 of another, so species evenness would be low.

Examples of natural disturbances that impact biodiversity include forest fires, flood, tornadoes, volcanoes, and hurricanes. These disturbances can complete the wipe out of species or parts of populations for example forest fires can completely burn areas down to the initial stage of succession. It can also cause a bottleneck effect where species populations are dramatically decreased due to natural disaster.

Habitat fragmentation has a low level of biodiversity because the areas are split up and resources cant be shared between the different fragments. However, the wildlife corridors are used to help increase biodiversity between these fragmentation's. This is because they allow for resources to travel between the fragments as well as organisms traveling between locations.

Bottleneck effect is when a random event removes all/most of the alleles and species in an environment, while founder effect is apart of the species move to a new area limiting genetic diversity in both "new" populations setting new genes for them both. and ultimatly individuals that underwent the founder effect have new characteristics then the original population. There similar in the way that both events result in a population decreasing population and decrease in genes.

For example the Sea otters regulated the Sea urchins which would then prevent the urchins from eating all the kept. In the green world hypothesis it was proven that with a loss of a key stone species a tropic cascade would occur due to the fact that predators regulate the food chain.
