Therapists/Counselors help people work through relationship issues, mental issues, and so much more. This includes anxiety, depression, stress, abusive or problematic relationships, mental illnesses, or any type of emotional issue occurring. These create a shoulder to lean in a difficult situation that provides sympathy and support, slowly solving or making an emotional stress feel better.

More specific examples are prejudice, bullying, criminal activity- substance abuse, family and domestic problems and PTSD.

The average is around 69,280 per year. But this could increase or decrease depending on where the psychologist is employed. For example if someone works as a school or college councilor or professor they will earn a lot less then if someone worked as a consultant or researcher.

I chose to research about a social psychologist because I like the thought of emotionally connecting with someone to help them. It would also be very honorable to be someone that is trusted by someone else to help them with a emotional issue that effects there life in such a way that they need help. I also have been helped by them before and would love to give the support to someone that I left when I needed it.
