They are also most prone to fall victim to smishing,  phishing, vishing, pharming as they may not recognize the red flags present in certain hyperlinks, fraudulent phone calls, fishy text messages; and they end up giving away their personal details to a seemingly  innocent person on the other end, often not realizing their mistake until the damage is done. This could be easily solved by providing seminars for the elderly to learn how to make efficient use of newer technology.

ME 2) E-safety is an important lesson as it helps us to be responsible internet citizens, avoiding suspicious websites, e-mails (etc.) to keep our identity safe from those who can misuse it for various networking crimes i.e. ; Identity Theft, Fraud (etc.)
Other threats on the internet  include: Spambots, Zombiebots, Chatterbots, Virus, Spyware, Adware (etc.)

Bots - They are used to carry out mundane tasks repetitively, and may clog up a network with unnecessary data.

Virus - Mostly hidden within seemingly normal download folders, these bits of program install onto your hard drive and continue to replicate at an insanely high rate, eventually crashing your hard drive by spamming it full of unsolicited data.

Spyware - Allows the hacker track any kind of activity on your PC, hence gaining the ability to key-log your passwords, PIN numbers,  search history (etc.)

Adware - The least harmful malware, however it is likely one of the most annoying, as this program track your search engine's cookie cache, and use frequently searched topics to provide Advertisement pop-ups suited to your search preferences.

Rootkit - Known also as a 'back door' this malware allows full control of your device to the hacker, allowing them to freely use your system to commit networking crimes, steal your files, delete, alter and corrupt them, rendering your computer useless if he/she choose to do so.

Worms - This kind of malware exploits any kind of gap in your firewall greatly reducing your internet speed, by replicating itself repeatedly, much like its cousin the computer virus. However, it is mostly large networks which are victims of a worm infestation, unlike a virus which targets a single device in a network of devices

- Conjunctivitis : Dilated blood vessels in the eyes, making your cornea (White part around the pupil) extremely sensitive to dust particles leading to the formation of pus and eventual blindness if not treated appropriately.
