         <description><![CDATA[<div>the 1953 coronation of the queen attracted 8 million viewers. showing that there was huge increase in the viewership of the bbc as it was broadcasting it live and this sparked an interest in the bbc. the impact of this is that the number of tv licence holders doubled to 3 million and tv ownership was an important part of the post war consumer boom and without this growth in affluence , the bbc would of been significantly smaller as well as a far less important broadcaster.</div>]]></description>
