Although design is not just about making things look good and fancy but also considering what suits the audience. The products are essentially made for someone so making it suiting his or her need is important. But some from a marketing perspective, giving users a good first impression is more important and in this case, the looks of the product.

For me, the looks is more important because the user’s first impression of the product is the moment when they will choose to learn more about it. Though seeing a product that looks good doesn't necessarily mean that it functions well and fully suits the user, but it can drag people's attention to look more into it. Using real life situation as an example, when companies advertises their product, they often make it as simple as putting an image of it to show off its look. User review for things such as phones and cars also shows that some people actually care for the looks over other specifications. If a phone is really powerful and comfortable but looks really terrible, most regular people will not like it since they use it daily in public which as a consequence, other people around it will start judging it by looks as well.

As a conclusion, people will start judging a product by the beauty of it first then other things. A company must give user a good first impression of the product so that they will like to know more about it. A good design means differently to everyone, depending on what type of person you are but in my opinion, beauty is important.

Design should be a combination of both aesthetics and function and a designer is defined by how they choose to present their product as well as how they have chosen to make their product work. However, given the long history of design, the market can be seen as being over-saturated. In my opinion, that can be seen once we consider how many designers there are in the world, countless, but most of the general public cannot name a dozen or so designers who have emerged over the past 2 decades or so, unless they are involved in certain niche markets of technology or fashion, like shoes. Why is that?
I suggest that it is because few designers have managed to distinguish themselves with a signature style and recognisable design features--something that acts as their own emblem and mark on their designs that can be claimed as theirs.

What is Beauty and Style?

They are are a necessity that should be included in any and all forms of designs. I myself believe that every piece of designs should include in a piece of arts or a few decorations as they’re usually the main factors when it comes to designing a product. Beauty’s main goal is not only about making a product attractive, it has big impacts to many business because honestly, not many people would be interested in buying any products if they don’t find it appealing since most customers bought beautiful product so that they themselves can also be beautiful.

I myself believe that design products, especially ones that have long time usages like school bags, clothes and electronic, etc. should have at least a few decorations or a piece of Art on them. Take some famous fashion and car brands like Lamborghini and Calvin Klein as examples, their products usually stand out because of big different between them and other brands like in term of being colorful, having unique decorations, etc. which led to them being worldwide popular and widely 'idolized' for centuries until now.

Fro the beauty, for safety, for efficiency, etc. One sure thing is, that practical and ‘functional’ are the objects that truly leads mankind to step another step forward. Creation of wheels, steam engine, and discovery of electric made people's’ life more efficient and comforting. Therefore, I believe functionality of an object should be over anything compared to other elements of design.

'Design can be art. Design can be aesthetics. Design is so simple, that's why it is so complicated. -Paul Land'
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the general definition of design is “A plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, or other objects before it is made.” I vaguely thought that design was more practical than art and a closer subject to our lives. However, with this definition, I can feel the meaning of design more real. A design that makes all the things in our lives more beautiful, practical, environmental, comfortable, and ethical for a better life. I was able to realize the true value of the design. Then, I can agree the quotes in the above perfectly. Design is so simple, that’s why it is so complicated. I love this contradiction in design.

As an object to be a good design requires many restrictions. Such as Efficiency and Performance and Beauty, Style and Comfort, Safety and Value,Ethics and Honesty and

Environment and Sustainability. Also by the materials that are used while making this design. I think the tools inside the product is more important than the outside design. For example, an apartment in China the outside looks fine and strong but the building fell behind like a human. It is because they used a thin bamboo stick when making constructing the apartment. We must think objectively in order to judge its object. Beauty and style is a very important part of being a good design but just like the example shown there is always a secret.

Design - simple yet complicated. There are many problems when talking and thinking about a design such as beauty, function, ethic, etc.... and on top of all is efficiency and style. Products don't have both style and efficiency is TRASH!
First thing that pop-up to customers eyes is the first impression: how the product look like or what is the style of the product. A good looking product (that fit customers taste) will tend to have lot of customers spending money on them, no matter efficient or inefficient and that is where the problem raise. For instant, iPhone. It has a simplistic design that make it look luxury, but the "content" of iPhone is not that good compared to Samsung S8/S8+. iPhone have a relatively smaller display with low pixel resolution than the S8 that has larger screen and larger pixel resolution. In my opinion, products should be efficient and also having style on the products itself as well.
if my product success

Design is how it works” - Steve Jobs

Every design is unique on its own way, as years go on, finer designs continue to develop. Although designs continue to develop and improve through its looks or purpose, there will always be a disadvantage behind the product that was made. Good looking designs are very important because it gives the first impression to the people of what the product it, but just like in the quote given by Steve Jobs, design should not just be about the look but also its purpose, to know a good design, there should be more than one perspective when looking at it so there will be various ideas and opinions. Over the years, buildings are one of most obvious change in the design culture because technology gets more advanced which results for better looking and efficient structure.

Designers had been coming up with new innovations one after another. Each of them with different perspectives and different design concepts towards what they think is a good design. But to produce a good design, there are various different design problems to face such as, beauty, safely, efficiancy, comfort, etc. These are the aspects that the consumers usually think of to determine if a product is worth buying. So, out of all these design problems, which of them are the most important issues? First of all, most of the consumers would go for the beauty of the product. Because, who would buy a product that’s undesireable to look at? A product should be eye catchy and to do that, beauty is what the product needs. Beauty, being one of the most impotant design problems, has the ablitity to attract people’s view. I believe that is what gave the consumers the desire to own it. But beauty alone can’t define a good design. Being asthetic looking doesn’t mean the product is good to use. You should be able to feel comfortable using it. If the product is too dangerous to use or, it’s uncomfortable to be around with then, no one would buy it. Therefore, I believe beauty and comfort is what defines a good design.

It's as similar as art it's nice and it's beautiful to have multiple designs around the world. Design is not about how strong it is it's about how good it looks. Usually people don't care about how good it is they care about how good it looks.

Why do we need new products
The reasons why people need new product is because people care about how new is it they don't care about how good it is and also the qualities, they don't care about the qualities they always care how it looks. Example if they find something cheap and good looking they wont care abut how its made or anything they will care about the style

I would still recommend to buy the best one because the more it's new the more there is ability and the more you invest the more your product will be better but if you only care about how it looks you won't be able to have something new or something with a lot ability for example phones have a lot of new ability's when you buy the most recent one example the IPhone 5 is longer the iPhone 4, Iphone6 as the new fingerprint on it and the iPhone 7 is water proof getting the newest product has always new abilitys
