One of the things that struck me the most was the gas chambers. I had a bad reaction because they didn't tell them they were going to die. All they did was tell them they were all getting showers. Also It said that it felt like they were suffocating. This was very sad because you would watch people dying in a cramped room and you would see everyone falling in front of you. FInally this was sad because they would pick random people to die based on if they looked healthy enough to work.

When looking and watching the video I felt hurt, sad, angered and so many more emotions. I have been learning about the Holocaust for a long time. And I still cannot grasp the fact of how terrible it was. The Holocaust was such a terrible time and so many innocent people lost their lives. The thing that really struck me was all the bundles of hair they had. I understand a tiny bit if cutting the hair was a sanitary thing. But it wasn't. They sold the hair!!!! They packaged it up and sold it. That is just beyond gross and completely disgusting and ridiculous. I could never imagine doing that or even know people who have.

After watching the video the thing that struck out to me most was how they would automatically kill young jewish babies. To me this was terrible because they didn't even get a chance at life. They didn't get to see what the world was they were just killed. Most of the mothers would not separate from their children and would've been killed along with them. They would either be shot if they wouldn't let their children go or sent to the gas chambers with the children. What also stuck out is how they were sent to the gas chamber and slowly killed. I thought the gas chambers were quick deaths but they actually slowly suffocated and died around 15 minutes. This all made me feel sad and angered that the human race could do such horrible things to such innocent people. It's truly sickening.

One thing that struck me the most is how Eli Wiesel agreed to walk his path of Auschwitz with Oprah and explain how he felt during each time. Watching him point in directions and share what he remembered about each spot in Auschwitz really surprised me. Most Holocaust survivors write about their memory of the event, but to go back to the place where you witnessed death, starvation, and beating of not only others, but yourself It truly shocked me how strong he was to walk his trail. You could hear a little bit of unsteadiness in Eli's voice, showing how heart stabbing this was to him. I truly thought that it was amazing for him to give such a great explanation of his experience and how it affected him during the time.

After watching the video, one thing that stuck out to me was all of the possessions of the people that passes away in Auschwitz. So many of the shoes, clothes, or other items meant so much to those people. There were things of poor people and things of rich people, but they were all thrown into one big pile. Another thing about this is how none of the people knew what their future was going to be, so they packed their best clothes and items to just be deprived of them right at the beginning.

After watching the video the one thing that really struck me was all of the baby clothes and finding out that the babies, and their mothers, were immediately sent into the gas chambers. I just could not believe how grown men could sit there and let innocent children die. What also struck me was when Elie was talking about everything that the children could have become or done at one point in their lives. It was very sad to think about all of the potential that the children could have had and the fact that it was taken away at the point of a finger. The last thing that struck me was the fact that it was not a painless death, I had always imagined that the people just fainted and then the gass killed them, I did not realize that it was a slow death and the people basically suffocated.

Seeing the actual people from the video recordings they showed, shocked me and made me realize that just because one person doesn't like a certain religion, they can spread it around massively and change how people feel about that religion and the people that practice it.

The whole thing struck me really. The horror and pain all of those innocent people had to go through is unexplainable. If I had to choose one thing that struck me hardest it would be the gas chambers. I say the gas chambers because what they did to those people is just terrible, tricking everyone into thinking they get a nice, warm shower. It was not even a quick death, but a long, slow death where each and every human being had to go through excruciating pain such as suffocation. Also, it made me sick to know that afterwards when everyone is dead they stick them in the crematorium in which they burn.

I was also struck by how people would rather be killed than go to block 11 because of the torture they would face. The first thing struck me because the members of the SS were fine with killing innocent people because that was what they were told. The second part struck me because these people had been trying their best to survive but if they had to go to block 11 they would rather die.

This is what it comes to, killing innocent people who they hate for losing the Great War and that is just wrong. The Jews had it bad in history from the Black Death to Spain huge exile and conversion but this is the worst thing that the climax of their story can give. The Nazi are sick people that ever live.
