In the next conference, instead of separate PolInSAR and Biomass sessions fully integrate the sessions, and avoid parallel session.

Consider time for discussions at the end of each session or theme maybe supported by seed questions.

Several presentations addressed the fact that airborne lidar, when used as validation data, ‘is not perfect’. Lidar is more reliable for altitudes than for slopes, for the ground than for the canopy, and the radar/lidar comparison is limited by the fact that the two sensors do not see the same thing (regardless of their respective uncertainties). Given the frequent use of lidar in studies on Biomass performance, an overview and discussion of the subject would be useful for all.

Recommendation to the BIOMASS mission teams:

We would like to request global coverage, or at least coverage over Europe. There are many applications that can benefit from P-band BIOMASS SAR mission, and it is truly unfortunate that a European mission cannot provide coverage over Europe.

1-Some participants used their own template, please make sure that everyone uses the same template.

2-Please avoid parallel session, when possible.

3- Sometimes people are shy to speak laud and ask questions, what about using this Padlet to collect written questions, and then few minutes at the end of each slot you can ask the questions that were not answered in a panel like discussion (some already used Padlet to insert their questions, or discussions)

The social events during the conference were amazing :-) we really enjoyed them. Please consider having them in the future conferences too, (especially the BIOMASS mission celebration).

Two more comments to the conference organisers:

1) to increase the visibility of the conference in social media (e.g. LinkedIn), please arrange a hashtag (#) so we can use when writing in the social media to find the conference

2) the videos convering the presentations are online in EO Science YouTube channel, but I am not sure how many people actually now it! Maybe a bit of advertisement on that is also good :)

pyPolSARPro is a much appreciated initiative. The required conversion (by e.g. SNAP) to NetCDF is input is not optimal though. Suggest to add readers for more common formats, such as e.g. Complex GeoTiff.

Considering the vast variety of applications and interests to use BIOMASS data, maybe ESA can negotiate for the follow-up BIOMASS sensor?
