Source B state" We are coming to shovel out the ineffective members and problems of the Weimar government."

{Similarity}

They are both opposing each other and are trying to influence the minds of citizens that they want to rule by democracy. Source A mentions “ Weimar Government is thoroughly determined to deal with the poor political and economic situation in Germany” and even stated their comeback “ if you were called upon by the Nazis in ejecting this weak government and constructing it, do you really think that the nazis could provide competent dictators for Germany?” This shows how much the Weimar Government wants to rule the country and wants to rule by supposed democracy. While the Nazis view the Weimar government as wanting fake democracy “ We oppose a fake democracy.

{Difference}

They both focus on the idea of democracy. Source A mentions that dictatorship would only worsen matters. “ But anyone who thinks that all the demand for a dictatorship will make matters better is making a great mistake.” while source C states that “ we oppose fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish.” This would mean that Source A, The Weimar government, wants democracy while Source C, the Nazis, indirectly wants dictatorship to rule while maintaining the image that what they seek for is democracy.

Both sources are similar in terms of the parties pursuit for winning the people of Germany's support. Source A states,"The weimar government is thoroughly determined to deal with poor political and economic situation in Germany." Source B states," a vote is only a tool for us, as well as for you. We will march into the marble halls of parliament, bringing with us the revolutionary will of the broad masses we came from." Both of these sources show how much the support of the people meant to them as they confidently assure the audience that they will not disappoint when voted to be in position of power. Hence source A and B are similar in terms of their pursuit for winning people's support.

However, sources A and B are different in terms of the parties views of each other. Source A states," do you really think the Nazis could provide competent dictators for Germany?" This source suggests that the Weimar government are doubtful of the Nazis and are sure the Nazis cannot do a better job of overcoming challenges the government faced. Source B states," we oppose a fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish, the industrious and the lazy, in the same way." This suggests that the Nazis are certain that they could do a better job at governing than the Weimar government. The mistakes of the Weimar government are pointed out and the Nazis are confident that they can overcome the different political and economic challenges. Hence, sources A and B are different in terms of the parties view of each other.

Similarity

Both sources are similar in terms of attempting to earn the support and trust of the German public. Source A states “The Weimar Government is thoroughly determined to deal with the poor political and economic situation in Germany”. Then, in 1928, Nazi official Joseph Goebbels rebuts with “We see in the present government the main cause of our steadily increasing miseries. A vote is only a tool for us as well as for you.” Both sources tell us that they want to prove that they are capable of running Germany and are both confident parties. They both stand for the same thing; winning the votes of the Germans. Hence, both sources are similar terms of attempting to earn the support and trust of the German public.

Difference

However sources A and B are similar in terms of what they claim the other party to be. Source A states “if you were called upon by the Nazis in ejecting this weak government and constructing it, do you really think that the Nazis could provide competent dictators for Germany?” This evidence is suggesting to the German public of rethinking their decision of supporting the Nazis instead of the Weimar Government, attempting to change their minds. This question allows the Germans to really think about who they want to rule the country. Meanwhile, source B states “We oppose a fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish, the industrious and the lazy, in the same way.” This evidence shows that the Nazis are putting down the Weimar Government and directly insulting them. They claim that the Weimar Government is not hardworking and not committed to being the government of Germany. These approaches are not similar in terms of their tones. While source A is asking the Germans to rethink, source B is calling out the Weimar government as snobbish dictators who do not take their jobs seriously. Hence, the sources are different in terms of what they claim the other party to be.

Both the sources are similar in terms of getting the support of the German public. Souce A states "if you were called upon the Nazis in ejecting this weak government and constructing it, do you really think that the Nazis could provide competent dictators for Germany?" This shows that the Weimar government is trying to convince the german public that making the Nazi as the dictator, the current problems would still remain unchanged. Source B? states "we oppose fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish, the industrious and the lazy, in the same way." This shows that the Weimar government would not be suitable too and the Nazi feel that the having the Weimar govern Germany would just be a waste of time. Hence, they think that they could do better.

The two sources are different in terms of how well they think they can manage the problems. Source A states "But anyone who thinks that the demand for a dictatorship will make matters better is making a great mistake" The suggests that having another party taking over would just make matters worst. Although the Weimar government knows that they are struggling to cope with the current situation, they believe that they themselves can cope with it best. Source B states "We see in the present government the main cause of our steadily inv=creasing miseries" This means that the Weimar government did not solve the problem yet. Nazi is mocking them in a way such that the nazi thinks that they could do better in managing the current problems.

Both sources are similar in terms of winning the hearts of the Germans. Source A states that 'The Weimar Government is throughly determined to deal with the poor political and economic situation in Germany, and we are well aware that in such extreme situations, nothing is acheived by party conflict.' Source B states that 'A vote is only a tool for us as well as for you. Hence, this shows that both sources are similar in terms of how they are going to gain the trust and support from the Germans.

Source A and B are different in terms of their views towards the opposite party. Source A states that ' if you were called upon by the Nazis in ejecting this week government and constructing it, do you really think that the Nazis could provide competent dictators for Germany?' However, Source B states'We are an anti-parliamentarian party that for good reasons rejects the Weimar constitution and its republican instituitions. We oppose fake democracy that treats the intelligent and the foolish, the industrious and the lazy, in the same way.' Therefore, this shows that Source A wants the Germans to rethink their choice and should consider the Weimar Government over the Nazi Party. However, Source B states that the Nazi Party had a list of good reasons on why the Germans should consider the Nazi party and not the Weimar as they would treat everyone fairly, no matter how hardworking they are.
