The MS ELA Curriculum proposal for GE, CT, CC, and ESL is for EL Education's Middle School units.

You can currently access the curriculum resources at Open-Up Resources.

Teachers will not need to use the website for instruction but can utilize it. Teachers will have a Canvas course built for teaching )a blueprint) and course where you can find instructional resources and lessons.

7th grade is doing Modules 1, 2, and 3.

8th grade is doing Modules 1, 2, and 3.

Curriculum Challenge and Gifted

Challenge and Gifted will merge into one course titled Honors. The course will utilize SpringBoard units 1-3.

BOOKS

1) Each MS ELA students will be given three trade books each year as a consumable.

2) Teachers will receive their copies in late May.

3) Each site will be provided a supplemental collection for thematic independent reading and book clubs.

Digital Resources

We are submitting a proposal for all secondary students to have access to Writable, Book Creator, and Quill.

Writable will replace NoRedInk because the platform has GrammarAid, Originality checks partnering with TurnItIn, faster student feedback, recommended practice lessons.

Professional Development

Teachers will have self-paced sessions available to them by July 15th.

Unpacking sessions will be available in August.

Teachers will have module coaching sessions.

There will be quarterly district-wide professional development sessions.
