1. Your name, matric number, date
Ng Ben Nett, GA04007, 23/8/2021

2. Your progress so far
I have learnt on how to manage wholesale and retail durian business model.

3. Your feelings and thoughts
I feel more excited when coming into wholesale durian business model as in dealing with durian suppliers. This is my first experience this process. Even though we have our own durian farm, but we chose to get more durians from our durian suppliers because we want the best for our customers as there are more choices to choose from. The main challenge is that the durians from the suppliers sometimes can be bad and also good. With more experience, we know how is the quality of durians produced by which farmer. As for retail durian business model, we always recognize our repeat customers, make sure that we give the best service for them. We will try to introduce the not-so-mainstream durians to them as we believe each durians have their own unique characteristics. On the other hand, for new customers, first we will identify what is their taste preference which is either sweet, bitter or mixed, then we will choose the right durians for them.

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?

Skill of decision making is utilized when coming into choosing the right durian business that I want to learn from, so with that I decided to follow the relatively young group as they have the skill on managing the farm which I think it is a rare find these days. The communication between us is easier with a narrow generation gap. Moreover, skill of decision making is also applied during in retail business model when choosing the right durians that suit the customers’ taste of preference.

5. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey?
Now is my semester break, so I have much free time to spend on managing durians together with the team. I woke up every day at 9am to set up the stall and finish work at 7pm or earlier if the fruits have sold out.

8. Your plan for next week (Week 4)
to explore how to manage the other minor fruit crops like cempedaks and mangosteen.

1. Fairuz Wardina binti Wahab, A168182, 20/6/21-26/6/21

2. We were given 2 lectures which are about finance and pitch craft. It was very helpful for me since I need to prepare for the material for our pitching as the Chief Financial Officer. We also almost finished the prototype for our application. It might not be completely done but it was enough for us to show to our mentor for mentoring session. Dr Azrul was very nice to point our what we lacked in our preparation for pre-judging round next week. He even shared with us some pictures as references.

3. As someone who had always learned about science and medicine, I found finance as something that is difficult to understand. That is why I was grateful with the lecture given about financial. Since it is my responsibility as CFO, i was able to understand all the terms and even helped my friends when our mentor asked questions about it.

4. During our mentoring session, our mentor commented about the colour of our app which is quite bright for the eyes so he asked us to consider changing it. We found it quite hard to figure which colours are the best so we decided to vote and chose from majority.

5. Since we need to finish our prototype and pitching material before the pre-judging round next week, I found it hard to manage my time wisely. Thankfully we had done a lot for the prototype last week, so I chose to focus on the material for pitching first so I had enough time to look for any other resources and calculate the cost and revenue for the business.

6. I planned to prepare myself for the pre-judging round properly and manage my time efficiently to make sure I had enough time in case we need to change anything last minute.

1. Your name, matric number, date
Siti Aisyah binti Suhaini (A167541)
Date of journaling: 1/9/2021
Date of third week EP: 19/6/2021-26/6/2021

2. Your progress so far

My team and I had come out with our application design and develop our prototype using Figma. We use the knowledge gained during this Hackathon to help us throughout the development. I also attend two lectures on business finance and pitch craft as well as a mentoring session with Dr Azrul from FTSM. At the end of this week, we had a pre-judging round where we were required to pitch the technical aspects of our product. We received several constructive comments from the judges which I found very useful for our pitch on week 4 and for further development of this business.

3. Your feelings and thoughts
I felt empowered as I, someone who has no IT background, managed to learn and develop an interactive application prototype from scratch using Figma. It is true that when there is a will, there is a way. So many skills, especially IT and business skills, can be learned online today therefore, the only thing standing between you and success is your will to achieve it.

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?
Being the leader of the group, I am responsible to make the final decisions. Having said that, the final decisions were only made after considering each team member’s opinion. However, there were times where decisions were required instantly. In these cases, I could only discuss it with the team member in charged of or involved with the specific matter. After that, I would still explain the reasoning of the decision to the whole group.

5. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey?

As I did my EP during the weeks of final exams, I really need to manage my time very well. I made a to-do list in my phone so that I could always check on it. I prioritized according to importance and urgency. I set a deadline for each task and if necessary, I would reschedule less important activities to later. Last but not least, I find task delegation a great way to manage time. By distributing our works, we can achieve results in less time.

6. Your plan for next week (Week 4)
-Finalize pitching materials
-Finalize prototype
-Practice pitching with mentors and supervisors
-Business pitching with investors

1. Your name, matric number, date
Elisya Hanna A168432
Date of week 3: 19/6/2021-26/6/2021

2. Your progress so far

For this week, we designed the wireframe of the application and underwent the pre judging round with 2 panel of judges which was Dr AliImran and Dr Ilyana (in the picture above)

For the wireframe of the application which is basically to show the functionality of the application and functions of each button, I spent a lot of time watching Figma tutorial videos on youtube to help get the job done! Some of the features that we successfully added into our application was the drop down menu, swipe feature as well as text box feature (it was so hard)

Besides that, for the pre judging round we had to prepare a few things such as the methodology flowchart of our application as well as slides with all the important elements for pitching such as the BMC.

3. Your feelings and thoughts

This week as very tiring and hard but once I saw the end product of our hard work, I felt nothing but proud! It is a truly rewarding feeling as I have successfully learnt and practice my prototyping skills just from watching youtube videos. It was also funny how whenever we figured out how to execute a new "feature", we would celebrate like we won gold in olympics!!

4. How did you learn and apply the skill of decision making in your EP journey?

As I was the Chief Technical Officer, I was mostly in charge of the design and technicality of the application. The skill of decision making came into play when we were discussing the elements of the application and choosing which one to put in and leave out.

Besides that, I also learnt the skill of decision making when designing the wireframe of the application. For example, deciding the flow of the application was done by surveying other similar applications, carrying out a poll on instagram to decide the colour of the interface as well as trial and error. I was responsible to ensure that the flow of the app was smooth and functions well.

5. How did you manage your time throughout this EP journey?

It was a little difficult to manage my time as we did our EP in the midst of having our clinical exams. However, I work well under pressure and is someone who loves to be kept busy!

I managed by time by prioritising each tasks according to their deadlines.
