Taketa HS has recognized this and started "Taketa Community Planning" where each homeroom has to come up with ideas to help the town and the community. It is quite a big event each year. For the entire year, the homerooms meet once a month to discuss their ideas. Then, they make presentations to show to the community. Community leaders then come by each classroom to listen to the students speak. They ask questions, provide feedback, and allow the students to feel like their ideas mean something. Most times the students’ ideas make it to the bigger world and they get to meet with the mayor of our city to discuss an idea that was passed by the community leaders and students. It is everyone`s responsibility to create a safe and clean community, and they make that extremely important here.
