One type of convention that can be seen in different creative nonfiction is Theme. Theme is usually defined as the central idea or topic of a literary work. To expound even further, the theme serves as the underlying message that is present throughout the whole piece of writing. Theme tends to show the beliefs that the author possess while creating their own work and it also aims to influence the thoughts of the readers by touching the human experiences. In a literary piece, there are often several themes that are present.

One of the most important conventions of poetry is the Figurative Language. Through comparisons, contrasts, and exaggeration the idea of poetry is being described in a much more poetic way. Poetries are full of flowery, brutally yet honest, and double meaning phrases and that is how the beauty of a poetry is being shown. By means of the writer will be able to express thy feelings and ideas in an exciting and challenging way. And lastly, figurative language openly and freely allows the reader to express and exploit their minds in a much more meaningful way that is connected to their heart and fueled by the mind.

Besides their answers, one type of convention in creative nonfiction is the Characters.

Characters bring life to the story. Keep in mind that while human characters are most frequently featured in stories, sometimes there are non-human characters in a story such as animals or even the environment itself. Also, Characters serve as the driving force in the story.

By the book, these are the agents of action who will carry out the decisions that will affect the flow of the story. Over the years, this has been stuck to my mind but as I analyze literature, it has given me a new definition of a character.

The way I see it, characters are the sole purpose on why you create a short story. They are the backbone of a plot in which if character development is poorly carried out, no matter how great a plot is, the story will fall short.

The four most common sound devices are repetition, rhyme, alliteration, and assonance. Subject matter for any form of poetry writing is limitless. It is one of the most significant elements for us to understand the story depending on the background music and for us to determine the mood of a work.
