The window in the small room was locked, and books were scattered on the shelves near the door. Jiri surmised that the door wouldn't open because someone had stacked books behind the door so that the door handle couldn't be pushed down, but Vespa had lost his mobility and couldn't have stacked the books underneath the handle on his own. Gilly began to look for suspicious items in the small room, Gilly found a bottle of ether (ecstasy) under the pile of books in the small room, and found a scarf in the doorway of the room, the scarf has some chemical agent smell. The scarf smells of chemicals. Gilly finally realises how the murderer stacked the books behind the door. Jilly starts to show us. First, straighten the scarf and lay it flat between the room and the door, then stack the books to the same height as the door knob, put the books into the room at the end of the scarf, close the door, and then start pulling the scarf from the outside so that the books stacked on top of the scarf will move under the knob little by little.

There are many types of people with disabilities and what I bring to you is people with disabilities in wheelchairs.

Wheelchairs are not used by everyone, so they don't pay much attention to these people, and because there are too many roads that are dangerous and inconvenient for them in general, there are rough roads such as going up and down steps, so it is still ok For them, it is safer not to go out and take public transportation (there is a certain height difference between the bus and the platform, so people in wheelchairs can only get on the bus after the bus driver gets off the bus and lowers the slope). Driving: It is very troublesome to carry a wheelchair when getting on and off the bus, which is very inconvenient. Therefore, most of the time these people will be at home, so people will not pay attention to them, and they will gradually be marginalized.

My dad and mom love us, and I love them very much. I have a brother who is three years younger than me. When I was about 10 years old, I saw a news story about a shooting at an elementary school. A shooter broke into the school and killed two students. I didn’t think anything of it when I read it. As time went on, I went to high school. One day at noon I was talking with my friends and suddenly a stranger came into the school with a gun and some of the students started running and screaming as they ran. Some students started running and screaming. My classmates and I ran back to class and locked the door. We hid under our desks and the teacher started to comfort us. The teacher began to comfort us. Every student had a look of fear in their eyes. Knocking on the door.

The knock on the door sounded, and all the students were instantly quiet. Until we shouted outside, "It's okay, the robbers have been caught". Because of this incident, the school let us go on vacation first.

In our current society, almost everyone has become aware of incidents where people resort to unreasonable means to inflict harm on someone in return for suffering at their hands. This commonly explored and exciting concept of Revenge is shown in William Shakespeare’s excellent Merchant of Venice. The story follows Antonio’s journey as he borrows money from a Jewish Moneylender Shylock and struggles to repay the loan. To elaborate, in response to Antonio’s slack, Shylock demands a pound of his flesh. As the story develops, it is evident that the concept of revenge is shown as a powerful and corrupting force in the play.

In recent years, addictions have skyrocketed one after another, ranging from game addictions to drug addictions, and even gambling addictions. However, with the current technological age, social media addiction is the most popular. Introduced in 1997, Social Media includes the sharing of information, text, and visuals through virtual networks and communities. Through features such as likes, comments, and shares, it has become a common dopamine hit for many users. As a result, millions of users across the globe are now suffering under social media's tight chokehold. In fact, social media addiction is a significant damaging issue that catalyses poor mental health, fragments relationships in reality, and a decline in productivity.

The harm caused by social media addiction may include anxiety, dependence, irritability, lack of self-control, etc. The causes are low self-esteem, personal dissatisfaction, depression and hyperactivity, and even lack of affection. , and according to the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), adolescents who use social media for more than three hours a day may be at a higher risk of mental health problems. The reason why they are young is because adolescence is the second largest growth period for the brain. . Because teenagers’ brains and social skills are rapidly developing, they are particularly susceptible to social media addiction. So what can we do to train ourselves not to be attracted to social media and become a group of people addicted to social media? First of all, we can control ourselves to set time on social media, or use it when studying or working. Put unnecessary electronic products as far away as possible so as not to forget the distance that we can see when we are distracted. We can also invite family or friends to go hiking, outing, etc. to shift our attention from social media to other places

Social Media Addiction has been correlated with detrimental mental health effects on teenagers. To elaborate, young adult users typically suffer from anxiety, dependence, irritability, and lack of self-control. This is because social media typically encourages self-comparison which can lead to lower self-esteem and unhappiness with one's current progress in life. Furthermore, during the teenage years, the brain is in a critical period of growth and therefore more susceptive to manipulative media. To further reinforce the dangers of social media on young teenagers' mental health, according to the Journal of America Medical Association (JAMA), users who use social media for more than 3 hours a day possess a 45% higher chance of mental health problems. So what can we do to train ourselves not to be attracted to social media and become resistant to addiction? First of all, we can control ourselves to set time restrictions on social media or refrain from using it when studying or working. To elaborate, we can put unnecessary electronic products as far away as possible to maintain deep focus during important task. Furthermore, we can also invite family or friends to go hiking, outing, etc. to shift our attention from social media to other places

Since 1997, social media has gradually become an indispensable system in our lives. In terms of global proportion, the proportion of people using social media accounts for 56.8% of the world. According to DIGITAL 2024: AUSTRALIA, the number of social media users in Australia as of January 2024 was 20.8 million, equivalent to 78.3% of the total population. According to According to statistics, as of 2024, Facebook has 16.65 million users in Australia, YouTube has 20.8 million users in Australia, and Instagram has 13.95 million users in Australia. In fact, these numbers are still rising, so this means that more and more people are using social media, more and more people will become addicted to social media.

Based on a real case, a netizen, Jane, shared that she took her daughter Grace to watch a movie, but within 20 minutes of the movie, she started playing with her mobile phone. In the past few years, she was unable to come to school due to COVID 19, so it accelerated everyone's interactions with friends. Interactions between classmates can only be done online, which increases the time spent online, which further causes people to not want to go out and just want to stay at home and use social media. Let me give you another example of my own. I am an international student. I originally wanted to study in Australia when I was in junior high school, but because of COVID 19, I kept putting it off. It was not until I was in grade 9 that I successfully came to Australia to study. , and before I came here, there were no mobile phones, computers or tablets. In my junior high school life, I used a walkie talkie to go to and from school. My father’s idea was that as long as he arrived next to the school, we would be able to call him. If the location was Instead, we can use the walkie-talkie to talk to him directly, and like one person calling the walkie-talkie, everyone on the same channel can hear the message. This is very convenient, so I have used it to communicate with my family for two years.

One hot and humid afternoon, a black father received a month's salary. While driving, he told his family that he had received his salary and could buy whatever he wanted today. I would pay for it. Then the group of people drove to the shop. A white police officer in another district who had just issued a traffic ticket completed his 100th traffic ticket today. He returned to the car happily and enjoyed the hard-earned quiet. Usually after handling one case, he would immediately go to handle another case because he likes to help so much. Because of this, he often doesn’t have time to eat. At this time, the black family was about to arrive at the shop, but when they found a parking space, they were forced to jump in line by a white man. The black family did not want to fight whit anyone, and when they were about to leave, they were stopped by the white man and said, "Black people are not welcome here. If you want to park, you can park in the parking lot opposite. This white man is the Shop owner. He is a white racist. He usually tells people around him that white people have the best blood of all races, and happened to meet a happy black family today, and they didn’t want to fight with someone.

When the clouds gathered here, there was bound to be a bloody storm. The alarm sounded. A blond white security guard with a beard held a gun and told the black families to stand against the wall. The shop clerk pointed at them and said that she saw them stealing in front of her. The white police officers rushed to the scene and checked the surveillance cameras but did not find any theft. However, they found a box of chocolates on them. The white shop owner also insisted that he had seen something hidden, but the white police officers saw the boss taking it from the surveillance cameras. A box of chocolates walked to the door and pretended to see something. When the black man was about to leave, he followed and used the chocolates to trigger the alarm. The boss became angry and said he was going to sue them. There were more and more people nearby, so the police had to handcuff them and take them away. He was detained by the police pending trial.

On the way home from get off work, the policeman felt that something was wrong the more he thought about it, so he decided to go back and look at the surveillance camera carefully before he discovered the clues. In order to retaliate against them for coming to the store to spend money, the shop owner gave them a box of chocolates at a certain blind spot and said it was for them. This scene happened to be reflected by the glass of the refrigerator door before being caught as evidence, and the shop owner learned that When the white policeman had obtained the evidence, he immediately sent people to investigate the white policeman, put a bomb in his car, and threatened to burn down his house if he defended the black man in court. The black man was extremely nervous. He was surprised when he heard that a white policeman wanted to testify for him. Black man didn't know why policeman wanted to testify for an unknown person. On the day of the trial, all major media were scrambling to know the final verdict. It was raining heavily outside, but the trial was almost over and the so-called police officers had not yet seen him testify. It was not until the second before he was about to convict that he was covered in blood to pushed the door open with his tired body and handed over the evidence that he was holding tightly in his hands. The reason why he came now was because he was hit by a large truck that ran a red light at high speed just now. He ran to the court with all his strength regardless of his injuries. He did not use his status as a police officer to stop the car on the road, but he rushed to the scene at the last moment. Only after everyone saw the evidence submitted did they discover the truth behind the matter. The black man was also released in court, and the shop owner was eventually detained. When everyone walked out of the court, the most beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky. Under investigation, Colleagues investigated and found that the car accident was caused by the shop owner deliberately sending someone to hit him.

Romeo and Juliet

Question: To what extent do love and hate influence characters’ decisions, and contribute to the tragic outcome of the play” Romeo and Juliet”?

Introduction

Set against the backdrop of Verona, Romeo and Juliet revolves around the forbidden love between two interesting characters. During the Renaissance period, in which the literature is captured, women did not have many rights, and often, in marriages, money was a big motivator and consideration. However, with Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet both originating from wealthy families and that of which possessed an "ancient hate", it is no doubt their connection was purely bound by love. With these two key concepts, love and hate, the gifted author Shakespeare can construct a dramatic tragedy play and explore Romeo and Juliet's demise.

Body paragraph 1 (Love)

The intricate and powerful concept of love in Romeo and Juliet significantly influences the characters' decisions and contributes to the tragic outcome of the play. This is vividly evident in Act 1, Scene 5, where Romeo questions, "Is love a tender thing? it is too rough, / Too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like thorn." To elaborate, "Is love a tender thing?" expresses that love is not as gentle as perceived. Furthermore, the terms "rude" and "boisterous" draw parallels to how love damages one's character and is chaotic. In addition, the term "pricks like a thorn" directly alludes to how love causes pain and is a sharp reminder that it will eventually lead to a character's breaking. Another quote includes Act 2, Scene 6, where Friar Lawrence says, "These violent delights have violent ends." The term "violent delights" denotes actions influenced by love and lust. Furthermore, the term "violent ends" foreshadows how these love-based actions directly influence the brutal ending of characters. Therefore, through the key concept of love, Shakespeare can construct characters' decisions and explore their destruction.

Romeo and Juliet, and their parents they both are idiotic, because no one can die for love for someone you've only known for five days. In the book, the author shows us Love and hate heavily to influence the decisions made in the play. Romeo and Juliet, who died out of love, and their respective families hated each other, which led to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence succinctly tells the story of Romeo's secret marriage to Juliet and its aftermath. Balthasar gives the prince the letter that Romeo had previously written to his father. The prince said it confirmed the abbot's story. In Act 5, Scene III page 117 last paragraph, Prince says “This letter doth make good the friar’s words, Their course of love, the tidings of her death. And here he writes that he did buy a poison of a poor pothecary, and therewithal Came to this Vault to die and lie with Juliet. Where be these enemies? Capulet, Montague, see what a Scourge is laid upon your hate, that heaven finds means to kill your joys with love. And I for winking at your discords too Have lost a brace of kinsmen; all are punished. “He rebukes the Capulets and Montagues, saying that the tragedy is the result of their discord.

Australia’s First Nations People

Introduction:

Marginalized groups include women, people with disabilities, people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, Native Americans, people of lower socioeconomic status, and more. These groups have been disenfranchised and oppressed by influential and discriminatory groups. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the earliest peoples of Australia. They are not a single ethnic group, but a collection of hundreds of groups with their own distinctive languages, histories and cultural traditions.

Body Paragraph 1:

First Nations people have long suffered from marginalization, colonialism in Australian society. Australia’s first nations people have health inequalities health conditions, while their education and employment opportunities are grossly inadequate and culturally drained. First Nations people in Australia have long suffered marginalization because of their colonial past. Health inequalities are also an important aspect of the marginalization of First Nations people. According to the Australian Government, First Nations people are more likely to suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease. Secondly, the lack of education and employment opportunities exacerbates the marginalization of groups. The education of First Nations students lags far behind the national average. Educational opportunities affect their employment opportunities. Finally, cultural loss is a major problem. The arrival of colonialists changed the way of life of First Nations people and led to the suppression and erosion of languages, traditions and cultural practices.

Body Paragraph 2:

Cultural erosion is the process by which the language, customs, traditions, beliefs and values of a group gradually disappear. It usually occurs when groups experience external influences, migration or colonization. In the case of First Nations people in Australia, the arrival of colonialists changed First Nations people's way of life, language, traditions and cultural erosion. It is possible to have teachers in schools who specialize in teaching First Nations languages and cultures. Ask if there are any First Nations people in the school and ask them if they would like to learn, and other people can also participate. The significance of including Aboriginal history and cultural practices in the education system. Incorporating Aboriginal Australian history and cultural practices into the education system can help Aboriginal students. By affirming Aboriginal students' identities and experiences, this approach also promotes mutual respect among all students. This is a old idea, in some countries they use this idea too, but they are only open to those in need, and the idea is that anyone who is interested can participate.

Body paragraph 3:

This idea can help those who need and want to learn. The idea is that more people can learn about the culture and language of Australia's First Peoples. We need to find teachers who can teach Australia's First Nations culture and language, which can be Aboriginal. Aboriginal people can be paid to be teachers, and Aboriginal people can be integrated into the community. Working with local Aboriginal communities ensures that their knowledge and traditions are respected. Seek funding from government agencies or non-profit organizations to pay for Aboriginal teachers' salaries and other program costs. This can include scholarships or bursaries for students who want to learn.

Conclusion:

First Nations people in Australia have long suffered marginalization because of their colonial past. The marginalization of Aboriginal Australians is a serious problem. The serious health inequalities, lack of education and employment opportunities, and cultural erosion faced by Aboriginal people are the ongoing consequences of history. By incorporating Aboriginal culture and history into education and allowing Aboriginal people to become educators. This not only benefits Aboriginal people, but also promotes social respect and solidarity.

Reference List:

First Nations heritage (31 January 2024).

The sun sets and night falls. It's the calm before the storm. The yellow car is speeding on the road leaving New York. I sit in the car and think about how much I have done for her, but in the end, she still doesn't love me. The speed of the car is getting faster and faster. 20 miles 30 miles 40 miles. Her words completely broke the tranquility. She say that because I think he can satisfy me more on the material level, although I like you more. She say that we women prefer people who have more money. It's hard to get through, but the difference between you and Thomas Buchanan is that he is born into a wealthy family, while you accumulated wealth through illegal means, but you are born into a poor family.

An invisible fear came over, and the tense atmosphere spread to the whole car. She look at me nervously while driving, and I suddenly don’t know what to say. After a while, I opened my mouth and say, “It’s true that my background is not as beautiful as his family background. That’s fine. Then why do you want to follow me? You can go find him. She replied to me: I don’t know how to choose. Although I gained love by following you, you can’t meet my many, many material needs, but he can, and by following you, I don’t know if anything unexpected will happen to you.

Everyone was silent for a while, but the speed of the car continued to increase. Just as we passed a car, we suddenly see a figure running out. Obviously, it was impossible to brake. We heard a crash and hit someone. She keep asking what to do, but I pretended to be calm and say it is fine. We don’t need to look. Maybe I bumped into some small animal such as a dog or cat, and there is no need to stop and check. During the thirty minutes of walking back to my mansion, I felt like Still suffering after 30 years.

I sent her home tremblingly and watched her quietly from a distance. I happened to see Nick getting out of the taxi in front of their house and sneaking around to observe. I tell myself to calm down and sleep. Once you sleep, everything will be fine tomorrow. It is just a cat or a dog. It's fine.

The Cage by Jodi M. Kucera is a poignant poem that explores themes of memory, trauma, and gratitude through the lens of a soldier's experience as a prisoner of war during World War II.

Summary and Analysis:

Narrative Structure:

The poem begins with a man sharing his story with the speaker. This sets a reflective tone, emphasizing the importance of storytelling in processing trauma.

Setting and Context:

The soldier recounts his time as a prisoner of war (POW) in Moosburg, a Nazi camp. The references to the harsh conditions—hard floors, cold nights, malnutrition—highlight the physical and emotional suffering endured by the POWs.

Imagery and Emotion:

Kucera employs vivid imagery to evoke the despair and hopelessness faced by the prisoners. The "cage" symbolizes not just physical confinement but also the psychological trauma and isolation of war.

Faith and Hope:

The soldier's constant prayers for rescue illustrate a deep yearning for freedom and survival. This recurring prayer signifies hope amidst despair.

Liberation:

The turning point occurs on April 25, 1945, when the "Fourteenth Armored Division" arrives, symbolizing hope and salvation. The moment of liberation is filled with joy and relief, contrasting sharply with the previous suffering.

Connection and Gratitude:

The poem culminates in a powerful emotional moment when the soldier, now free, reflects on the face of the soldier who liberated him. The expression of regret for not being able to thank him adds depth to the themes of connection and recognition of shared humanity.

Full Circle:

The final lines reveal that the soldier is now standing in front of the speaker, creating a full-circle moment that underscores the importance of acknowledging and remembering acts of bravery and kindness during dark times.

Themes:

Survival and Resilience: The soldier’s story is one of endurance against unimaginable odds.

The Impact of War: It examines how war leaves deep emotional scars that last a lifetime.

The Importance of Connection: Relationships formed in dire circumstances highlight the fundamental human need for empathy and support.

Overall, "The Cage" serves as a powerful reminder of the human spirit's resilience in the face of adversity and the lasting impact of gratitude and connection across time and experience.

Shouldn’t junk food advertisements be banned for children. We need to that children to know junk food is yummy but is not healthy and we can eat but not every week. Like why do people eat junk food even if they know they are unhealthy? So we need to give children good thinking that them didn’t have bad habit after they grow up. I will say (shouldn’t junk food advertisements be banned for children) It can teach children to learn is that advertisements really or exaggerate the facts.

Conclusion:

Overall, in the book The Great Gatsby, the author reveals that the American Dream is a great and big lie to those without power and status. In the book, both Gatsby and Wilson work hard for a good life, but in the end, they are both destroyed by the rich. The rich, such as Tom and Daisy, use the privileges of the rich to protect themselves and push the poor into the abyss. It shows that some people can't forget their origin and class even after they have worked hard.

Created by the famous Arthur Miller in 1953, The Crucible is a classic that is inspired by the 1692 Salem witch trials. Set against the backdrop of Massachusetts, the play follows the intense witch hunt that drives mass chaos in the town. Using similar elements of social chaos, The Dressmaker is an exciting revenge story. It is set in the fictional town of Dungatar, and displays Tilly's attempts to prove her innocence in Stewart's murder several years ago.

The Crucible and The Dressmaker both serve as purposeful texts to convey the nature of misusing power as detrimental to society’s functioning.

This is evident within The Crucible during Act 3, where Judge Danforth, as he presides over the Salem witch trials, states, “We burn a hot fire here; it melts down all concealment”. This phrase “burn a hot fire” denotes how Danforth, with his significant influence in the court, encourages a wild and dangerous approach to the witch case - like that of a fire - as opposed to a more logical and reasoned approach to justice. The impact of this misuse in judicial influence is foreshadowed and ironically revealed in the latter part of the states. The phrase “burns down all concealment” on a surface level suggests revealing the truth; however, upon a deeper analysis, it also symbolizes the burning of society at an entirety, including the laws that conceal the rights of innocent defendants and, in turn, burning away the underlying concepts of reason and justice.

In addition, in Act 4, Reverand Hale, after returning from a nearby town whose court was overthrown, states, "there are orphans wandering from house to house; abandoned cattle bellow on the highroads". The term "orphans wandering from house to house" conveys a sense of abandonment along with the vulnerability and desperation that the society faces. disproportionate influence to destabilise the community. Cattle are known to be in paddocks grazing and them being on the highways highlights a sense of displacement.

Overall, these quotes from The Crucible effectively highlight the detrimental impacts of misusing power on society, specifically in overturning the established judicial system and destabilizing the community.

Similarly, key scenes in The Dressmaker also reveal the dangers of misusing power in society. This is evident in the closing scene where Tilly, after discovering her father, the head councillor of the town, had misused his influence to frame her as the culprit of Stewarts death, prepares to burn down the town while its members attend a community performance. The bright red velvet carpet being rolled down and drenched in flammable liquid shortly after and covered in a fire trail symbolizes how even the most beautiful elements in society can be corrupted and destroyed with the exploitation of power. Furthermore, a long shot captures the aftermath of the arson, whereby the town is engulfed in a towering rising trail of black smog. This camera angle is purposefully utilized to juxtapose the insignificance of the town against the disproportionate damage that has been caused. Hence, this scene serves as a stark reminder of the social destruction that can result from misusing power.

HOW TO WRITE SHORT STORY

Here are a few important things to keep in mind when writing your story:

1. The story should be exactly three paragraphs. I'll explain the structure of each paragraph below.

2. The entire story should only cover about 15 minutes of time. This is key. Nothing in the story should take place over hours or days-everything happens quickly

and within a tight timeframe.

STORY STRUCTURE:

Paragraph 1: Setting Paragraph

This paragraph is purely descriptive. Your job here is to paint a clear picture of the scene. Nothing is happening yet-just describe where the character is.

Paragraph 2: Flashback Paragraph

This is where you reveal how the character ended up in that setting. For example, if the setting is a jail cell, the flashback could describe the moment they hit their teacher and got arrested. Keep it short, about 4 minutes of story time.

Paragraph 3: Present Moment Paragraph

This paragraph jumps back to the present. The character finishes recalling their flashback, "wakes up" to the moment, and then does something exciting or scary. For example, maybe they decide to try escaping from the cell. This should take up the remaining 10 minutes of story time.

SENTENCE TYPES TO CYCLE THROUGH:

When writing each paragraph, alternate between these three sentence types:

1. Feeling/Thought Sentences

Example: In the cell, Clement felt a deep sense of despair and regret.

2.

"Homecoming" is a powerful anti-war poem by Australian poet Bruce Dawe, written in 1968 during the Vietnam War. The poem is a moving commentary on the human cost of war, focusing particularly on the young Australian soldiers who died in Vietnam and were returned home in coffins.

Main Themes of "Homecoming":

The Futility and Horror of War:
The poem describes in chilling detail the process of retrieving and transporting the dead bodies of soldiers from the battlefield back to Australia. There is an impersonal, mechanical repetition in the way the bodies are handled, reflecting how war reduces individuals to anonymous, lifeless cargo.

Dehumanization:
The soldiers are referred to as "them," and their names and identities are lost. Dawe highlights how soldiers are treated as numbers rather than as human beings, emphasizing how society becomes desensitized to death during wartime.

Irony in the Title "Homecoming":
Traditionally, a "homecoming" is a joyful return, often celebrated. However, in this poem, it is a tragic and bitter return. The dead are coming home in coffins, not in triumph.

Criticism of Political and Military Systems:
By portraying the mass return of the dead in such a systematic and emotionless manner, Dawe is implicitly criticizing the institutions and leaders responsible for sending young men to die.

Universal Grief and Loss:
The final lines of the poem shift focus to the mothers, fathers, and loved ones waiting for their sons to return. This universalizes the sorrow, making it not just a political poem but also one of deep personal tragedy.

Suburban Lovers (1969)

Bruce Dawe’s poem Suburban Lovers (1969) is a satirical and poignant portrayal of love and relationships in middle-class suburban Australia during the post-war era. Here's an analysis of the poem with its key features, themes, and context, along with source links.

📖 Summary:

Suburban Lovers explores the monotony and predictability of suburban life through the lens of a romantic relationship. The poem contrasts the grand expectations of love with the mundane, routine-filled reality of suburban existence. The "lovers" in the title are depicted not with passion or drama but with banality, surrounded by domestic routines and consumerism.

🧠 Key Themes and Ideas:

Suburban Conformity:

The poem critiques how suburbia molds individual lives into predictable roles and routines. Love becomes standardized — like everything else in suburban life — with barbecues, lawn mowing, and carports forming the backdrop.

Love vs. Routine:

Dawe contrasts romantic ideals with the lived reality of married or partnered life in the suburbs. The lovers are not dramatic or passionate, but ordinary — almost interchangeable with others.

Satire of Consumer Culture:

The poem subtly mocks the materialism of the suburban middle class, where possessions and appearances replace genuine emotional depth.

Australian Identity:

The poem reflects a distinctly Australian setting, especially the post-WWII era when suburban expansion was rapidly reshaping the country's urban landscape.

✍️ Techniques:

Irony & Satire: Dawe uses dry humour and irony to highlight the difference between expectation and reality.

Colloquial Language: Emphasizes ordinariness and gives the poem a distinctly Australian tone.

Imagery: Everyday suburban details — like kitchens, televisions, and bedrooms — create a vivid sense of place.

"Monster" by Samuel Wagan Watson is a powerful contemporary poem that explores themes of fear, alienation, modern urban life, and Indigenous identity. Watson, a Murri man of Aboriginal and German descent, uses the concept of a "monster" as a metaphor to represent the threatening and dehumanizing aspects of city life, racism, and personal trauma.

🔍 Summary of the Poem "Monster"

In the poem, Watson describes a creature that follows or haunts the speaker. This "monster" is not just a literal beast—it symbolizes larger, unseen forces in society: urban dangers, colonial impacts, personal anxiety, and societal neglect. The speaker reflects on the feeling of being watched or hunted, especially as an Aboriginal person navigating the modern, concrete world.

🧠 Themes and Ideas

Urban Alienation – The city is cold, unfamiliar, and dangerous, particularly for Indigenous people.

Racism and Identity – The “monster” can be interpreted as systemic racism or the burden of being an Indigenous person in modern Australia.

Fear and Anxiety – The monster evokes a constant state of tension, representing psychological pressure or trauma.

Loss of Connection – The concrete world contrasts with traditional land and cultural roots.

✍️ Techniques and Figurative Language

Metaphor: The “monster” is a key metaphor for fear, racism, trauma, or society’s dehumanizing effects.

Imagery: Urban landscapes are described in a dark, threatening way (e.g., “bitumen veins” for roads).

Allusion: The poem refers indirectly to colonial violence and modern societal structures.

Personification: The monster is given human-like traits, making it more psychologically disturbing.

Tone: The tone is uneasy, fearful, and reflective.

🌏 Context: Indigenous Experience

Watson’s identity as an Aboriginal Australian influences the poem deeply:

It reflects the marginalization and constant surveillance experienced by Indigenous people.

The “monster” might also be linked to intergenerational trauma from colonization.

The poem critiques how Indigenous people are made to feel like outsiders in their own land.

“Please Resist Me” is a spoken word poem by Luka Lesson, an Australian slam poet of Greek heritage, released in 2012. The poem explores complex themes around identity, resistance, culture, and power, encouraging critical thinking about oppression and the reclaiming of personal and cultural strength.

🔍 Summary of "Please Resist Me" by Luka Lesson

Luka Lesson uses the voice of the coloniser or oppressor—sarcastically and provocatively—telling people to “resist” him, even while laying out all the tools used to dominate others (e.g., military, media, schooling systems). The poem shifts tone between ironic bravado and earnest challenge, revealing the power structures that keep people marginalised.

At its core, it’s a call to action: a demand that listeners refuse to be silenced, assimilated, or dominated.

🧠 Key Themes:

Colonialism and Resistance

The speaker references stolen land, cultural genocide, and assimilation.

He encourages resistance—not just physical but cultural and intellectual.

Power and Identity

The poet critiques systems that erase identities (e.g., schools that ignore Indigenous history).

“Resisting” becomes a way to reclaim voice, heritage, and autonomy.

Irony and Reversal

The repeated phrase “please resist me” is ironic—spoken by a powerful figure pretending to encourage rebellion while describing how they crush it.

💬 Powerful Quotes:

“Please resist me, because I’ll resist you. I’ll beat you down and make you forget your name.”

“I’ll make you feel proud to speak my language… I’ll make you ashamed to speak your own.”

These lines sharply critique cultural assimilation and linguistic imperialism.

✍️ Poetic and Figurative Devices:

Irony: The entire poem is laced with ironic statements—oppressors mockingly encouraging rebellion.

Repetition: “Please resist me” appears throughout the poem, creating a haunting, challenging tone.

Personification: Systems like colonisation and education are given voice.

Allusion: Historical and contemporary references to colonial violence, resistance movements, and cultural survival.

🌍 Context:

Luka Lesson is known for tackling issues such as:

Postcolonial identity

Indigenous sovereignty in Australia

Greek diaspora experiences

Youth disempowerment and media manipulation

The poem reflects broader tensions in Australian society regarding reconciliation, multiculturalism, and decolonisation.

An eerie and deserted battlefield. Private Tom is leading a group of third-class soldiers who have just been trained for less than a month through the thick, muddy, humid and hot jungle. The air is thick with the smell of smoke and the pungent odour of gas bombs. Every few seconds, the fast beat of gunfire can be heard echoing through the jungle in the distance. The silence of the space makes everyone fearful and nervous of sudden attacks and chemical weapons being dropped by enemy planes in the sky. A sense of sadness wiped the faces of all nearby soldiers. "A507 down, A603 down, A217 down." Through the chatter on the radio, a harsh reality is set. Each soldier is no longer called by their first name, but stripped down to a single letter and a series of number combinations. Across the field, trails of velvet blood and dozens of fresh bodies lay lifeless on the wet, thick soil. The mixture of decaying flesh and metallic blood was not just a simple odour, but the smell of death itself claiming victory in this war.

To what extent do you agree that Shylock is the villain of the play?

Introduction:

Written by Shakespeare and set in 16th-century Venice, "The Merchant of Venice" follows Antonio and his friend Bassanio as they make a bold attempt to win the heart of the wealthy Portia. But things go south when agreements made with the Jewish moneylender Shylock are broken. With Antonio's ships lost, Shylock demands a pound of flesh as compensation. Through this interesting plot, the author reveals to the readers about Shylocks shocking nature. In fact, through his lack of compassion displayed and prejudiced views, to a significant extent, Shylock is represented as the villain of the play.

Body paragraph 1:

With Shylocks lack of compassion and inability to show generosity to those in need, it is clear Shylock is represented as a cruel villain. This is evident during Launcelot's personal reflection as he decides whether he should leave Shylock's service and reveals his poor treatment - “I can tell every finger I have with my ribs.” This phrase reveals that Launcelot has almost been starved to death, being so thin from hunger that his ribs stick out and he is able to count his fingers through them. This purposeful use of imagery highlights Shylock as a cruel, neglectful and harsh employer who values personal benefits at the expense of others and believes he is entitled to treat others in any way he chooses without consequences. Furthermore, not long after Launcelot's decision to leave the house, Shylock comments, "a huge feeder". This irony conveys that even though his servant is struggling because of his actions, he still views him as the greedy one, which amplifies his cold nature. Therefore, Shylock is clearly represented as a villian of the play.

Body paragraph 2:

In “The Merchant of Venice”, Shylock’s prejudice against Christians is shown through his anger and his refusal to deal with them. This is evident when Shylock says, “I hate him for he is a Christian”. This reveals that Shylock’s prejudice is not based on personal grudges but rather on deep religious hostility, reflecting the tension between Christians and Jews in the play. Furthermore, this prejudice is reinforced when he angrily shouts, “Fled with a Christian! O my Christian ducats!” after Jessica and Lorenzo elope. This highlights Shylock's linking of Christians with betrayal and loss together. These demonstrate the level of Sherlock's intolerance and show how Shakespeare portrays his dislike toward Christianity.

Launcelot says: “I can tell every finger I have with my ribs”

→ This means he's extremely skinny and starving. It suggests that while working for Shylock, he was not fed well and was treated poorly.

Shylock later calls Launcelot “a huge feeder”

→ Shylock claims that Launcelot eats too much and wastes food.

What this contrast tells us:

Shylock and Launcelot have completely different views of the same situation. Launcelot thinks he's starving under Shylock, while Shylock thinks Launcelot eats too much.

What it reveals about Shylock’s attitude:

Shylock is extremely stingy and ungenerous:

He doesn’t like giving much, whether it’s food or money. Even normal amounts of food seem “too much” to him.

He exaggerates how much people take:

Shylock views giving anything beyond what is absolutely necessary as wasteful. So if someone eats slightly more, he’ll call them a “huge feeder.”

Shows his strict, miserly personality:

He values money/possessions more than generosity. This scene suggests that Shylock is unwilling to provide decent care—even to his own servant.

Summary of the analysis:

This contrast suggests that Shylock has a very limited idea of generosity. To him, even basic needs like food can be “too much.” It shows he is selfish and unwilling to spend money on others. He possibly thinks generosity is foolish or unnecessary.

You could use this in a paragraph like:

This shows that Shylock views generosity as wasteful and believes that giving people more than the bare minimum is excessive. His description of Launcelot as a “huge feeder” reveals that Shylock thinks even basic human needs are too much to give. This reflects his stingy nature and highlights his lack of compassion toward others, whether it's food, money, or kindness.

BODY (1):

Inflation is a very big issue since it directly drives the unsustainable cost of basics. With inflation, the cost of basic goods and services increases over time, whilst the household income remains relatively stable. This process dramatically decreases consumer purchasing power, as the value of the Australian dollar is unable to gain. things it once could. This adds pressure to families, forcing them to work harder to meet basic daily expenses, which reduces their overall quality of life and well-being. In fact, a

Coupled with impacts on an individual, the rise in these basic goods also force

Cost of basics rising: Wages don’t match inflation; essentials like food, rent, and fuel are outpacing incomes.

This results in cost cutting and layoffs by enterprises, and the closure of some small & medium business and increase in the financial pressure on the government. According to an ABC News report from 2023 titled “Australia's cost-of-living crisis is hitting young people and low-income earners hard – but boomers are doing alright”, by late 2021 inflation had arrived in Australia and continued to intensify. About 65% of people reduced heating and cooling usage, 59% had restricted lighting usage, and nearly 60% have been stripped of essentials like food and medication to cover bills. This is disgusting, disgraceful and devastating. When you save up for months to buy a pair of trainers you really fancy, only to find the price has gone up again by the time you're ready to buy them. That's the state of inflation in Australia today. From food to everyday essentials, everything costs more than it did last year. For us, prices are soaring while our wages remain unchanged. This needs to be changed.

Inflation has not only driven up prices but has also become one of the most pressing concerns for today's youth. The most evident manifestation is that an increasing number of young people, unable to afford exorbitant rents and property purchase costs, are spending longer periods at home. In Australian culture, children are traditionally expected to leave home at 18 to live independently, yet this practice has become increasingly rare in recent years. Many young people, even with stable employment, struggle to afford exorbitant rents and property costs, leaving them no choice but to continue living with their parents. According to an article titled “Parenting costs once ended when a child turned 18. Not any more.”, the 2024 Australian Household, Income and Labour Force Survey revealed that 54% of males and 47% of females aged between 18 and 29 still live at home with their parents. This is a rather staggering proportion. Meanwhile, another article, “More than half of young Australians are putting off having children.”, What does that mean for future growth? An interview with a young woman reveals her current struggle to repay loans while contemplating home ownership. She even remarks, ‘And you know, I can't even afford grated cheese, that's like $12 a bag these days,’ she says. I believe this is not the environment we wish to create to young people. I hope everyone can fix inflation together.

Conflict of cultural language

The moment the car door opened, fresh air slipped in through the gap. Sussan stepped out of the car, turned, and knocked on the passenger window. The window slowly rolled down to reveal a woman’s face bearing a striking resemblance to Sussan’s. She seemed to smile and say something that made Sussan laugh along with her.

“Ding!” the bell rang, and students trickled into the classroom one by one. Sussan casually found a seat in the front row. The girl beside her greeted her with a thick Australian accent.

Sussan left the entire classroom in hysterics due to her heavy Australian accent. Even Sussan giggled a little. Chloe looked dismayed and inquired whether she had not said it right. “It was a cute accent,” Sussan replied in French, it is that.

Chloe blushed and laughed as well. Towards the end of the day, she asked Sussan privately to teach her French so that she would never be mocked again. Sussan agreed. Since that time, they were almost every day together, practising French, chatting and sharing their lives.

Sussan and Chloe became best friends as they matured. During one of the weekends, they were all present on a school-organised camping trip, and their parents just met and became friends instantly. The two girls were sitting next to each other, watching the twinkling stars as they told each other about their future dreams by the campfire.

“I want to be a speech therapist and help some children like me to learn to talk,” Chloe said to Sussan excitedly, speaking in French.

Sussan laughed and shook her head, and laughed at her, teasing her, “Ha! You would make a speech therapist with that accent of yours? That’s brave!” [In French]

Chloe laughed, and her eyes flashed. “What about you? What do you want to do?” [In French]

“I would like to become a teacher”, Sussan answered. “I would like to make studying entertaining for my learners.” [In French]

At that point, they understood each other and supported one another. Slowly, a friendship grew between them through laughter and dreams.

But not all the people on campus were kind to them. The outgoing personality of Chloe, as well as the French accented with an Australian twist, got the ridicule and exclusion of some classmates. It began with understated snickers and whispers, but over time it escalated to open bullying. Some were very quick to correct her in class, and others even wrote insults in her notebooks. Chloe had a hard time concealing her lack of control, as she continued to smile even though her eyes were slowly losing their lustre.

At this, Sussan was furious and powerless. She desired to take care of Chloe, but it was usually met with cold comments and rejection. A tense and foreign atmosphere was felt throughout the campus. The fear and the isolation appeared to slowly replace the carefree days with much laughing.

In the hospital, Sussan felt a deep sense of fear and despair. She sat stiffly on the cold hospital chair, her hands clenched tightly together until her knuckles turned white. The pallor on her face could not conceal her exhaustion and worry. The air around her was filled with a sense of chaos – the sharp cries of grieving family members echoed through the corridor, and nurses quickly passed her, with forceful footsteps, and the ventilator was beeping. “Why did this happen?” Sussan asks herself.

The sterile scent of antiseptic clung the air as to Sussan’s eyes darted toward the swinging doors of the emergency room. Every time they opened, her heart lurched, hoping for news of Charlie.

Everything happened so quickly. Chloe had been struggling for weeks — the bullying and reticule at university. The whispered comments and cold stares felt like invisible knives, slowly chipping away at her smile. She had tried seeking help from teachers, only to be blamed for “not trying hard enough to fit in.” No one truly heard her help.

Her mind replayed to this evening, Chloe took the initiative to meet Sussan outside the dormitory. With a faint smile on her face, she whispered softly. “I’m finally free.” [In French] At the time, Sussan couldn’t make sense of those words. It wasn’t until several minutes later that she suddenly sensed something was going terribly wrong. Rushing up to the rooftop, she saw only Chloe standing in the wind, her eyes looked like they were both crying and laughing. Sussan screamed her name, but it was all too late.

Since that day, Sussan never spoke another word.

Her voice seemed to have been taken away with that scream, leaving only heavy breathing and silent tears. The doctor said her vocal cords were fine, but the “psychological trauma was too deep for her.” Her parents took her to see doctors and psychologists, but she responded to every question with silence.

Days slipped by in silence. Late at night, when all was quiet, Sussan would dream of Chloe smiling, hearing those words: “I’m finally free.” [In French] Upon waking, she felt as if an invisible hand was gripping her chest, making it hard to breathe. She began to fear language, fear sound, for every word reminded her of the friend she had lost.

Her silence became a symbol of sorrow. No one knew that behind that silence lay a heart torn apart yet still searching for hope.

A few years later, Sussan became a speech therapist.

When she stepped back into the clinic and heard children struggling to form their first syllables, her heart would flutter—those were the sounds she had once lost and now embraced anew. She still remembered Chloe, the girl who had laughed as she vowed to help others learn to express themselves.

Sometimes, after class, she would linger in her office, quietly addressing the sky outside the window: “Chloe, I did it.”

Language, once her fear, had become her strength. She learned that memories weren't preserved through silence, but by using her voice to keep that longing alive.

The moment the car door opened, fresh air slipped in through the gap. Amari stepped out, followed by his twin brother Kofi. They had just arrived from Ghana to begin a new life in America. At first, they clung to each other, speaking in the fast rhythm of Twi. But in the classroom, when Amari answered a question, the students laughed at his accent. One classmate asked him to “say it again” just for the joke. Kofi, embarrassed, began to answer in English only, repeating phrases until he sounded like the others. The two brothers, once inseparable, now seemed to carry two tongues — one that belonged, and one that was slowly being buried.

In the hospital waiting room, Amari’s body trembled as he sat rigid on the plastic chair. The air smelled of antiseptic and despair. Behind the swinging doors, Kofi lay motionless. The bullying, the constant pressure to erase the “wrong” tongue, had silenced him in the cruellest way. Amari remembered the last words his brother had whispered: “I’m finally free.” But freedom had come by cutting off his own voice. Amari felt his tongue rotting in his mouth, heavy with a grief that no English word could hold. For weeks after the funeral, he barely spoke at all. Doctors told his parents his silence was “psychological,” but he knew it was deeper: the language that tied him to his brother had died with him.

Years later, Amari stood in a small classroom, listening to children stumble over their first syllables. He had become a speech therapist, the profession his brother once dreamed of. At first he taught them English, but slowly, almost without noticing, he began slipping in words of Twi — the sounds he had buried, the tongue he thought was lost. To his surprise, the words grew strong again, rolling off his lips like roots breaking through the earth. At night, he would look at the stars and whisper in Twi, “Kofi, I did it.” The language had returned, not just as memory, but as living voice. Like a seed buried deep, it had grown back.

This version keeps most of your narrative style and imagery but adjusts:

First para = cultural conflict (twin split mirrors mother vs foreign tongue).

Second para = trauma (tongue “rots” with silence).

Final para = rebirth (seed grows back through rediscovered language).

Feed your family for under $10. A once reasonable deal that kept a family of four out of hunger now feels like a figment of our imagination. In fact, you'd be lucky if you could buy a packet of cheese from Coles for under $10, let alone feed your family. Good morning, Office for the Youth. I am Clement, and today I will be advocating for a change in government policies that help protect Australian communities against the ratcheted price-gauging of giant corporations and the exploitation of banks. In the current state of our economy, inflation has taken the express route across Australia, and families are getting flattened on the track. But the effects of inflation go beyond the millennial generation. In fact, Inflation is a growing issue for the youth demographic since it significantly drives the cost of basic goods, perpetuates a cycle of debt and dependence, and widens inequality.

<s>Do you still remember what was the cost of bread in 2015? It was only a mere $3 and you could walk away from Coles with a loaf of bread. What about now? Currently a loaf of bread at most supermarkets cost at least $5, that is almost a 166% increase in price. Now imagine if this trend keeps continuing, how could we possibly live freely? Office for Youth, my name is Clement and today I am advocating for a change in our society that will undoubtedly benefit not only the poor, but the common people in this country. Cost of living currently in Australia is too unbearable, with prices increasing in all everyday goods such as milk, eggs and fruit, this poses a massive challenge for the everyday people in the country that we love.</s>

Cost of basic goods rising due to inflationary effects not only affects the cost of living, but it also reduces the quality of life for most people in Australia. This will ultimately lead to an imbalance in the economy as money will depreciate and everyday people like you and me will have to work harder and harder to meet basic daily expenses. About 65% of people reduced their heating and cooling usage, 59% had restricted lighting usage, and nearly 60% have been stripped of essentials like food and medication to cover bills. This is disgusting, disgraceful and devastating. Think about a single mother, Lucy, who has to look after her 3 children. Their situation is already dire enough, now coupled with the ongoing cost of living crisis that increases prices of everyday goods day by day, how could she possibly survive? How will the kids be able to have a future and go to school? This is the confronting reality that we are living in today. If you don’t make a change quickly, there will be many countless people who are forced into homelessness just like Lucy who will ultimately starve and die. There will be blood on your hands. This also applies to everyday people not just the poor. Imagine you save up for months to try and buy a pair of trainers you really fancy, only to find the price has gone up again by the time you're ready to buy them. How devastated would you be? That's the reality of the state of inflation in Australia today. From food to everyday essentials, everything costs more than it did last year. For us, prices are soaring while our wages remain unchanged. Office for Youth, something needs to be done.

Inflation has not only driven up prices but has also become one of the most pressing concerns for today's youth. This is a rather staggering proportion. This means that kids will lose their ability to be independent which in their early 20s should be a vital skill that they need to develop. Without this skill, these young people may be more prone to not getting married and having kids due to not being able to even rent out a small apartment due to the rising costs. This is a huge societal detriment that our beloved country simply cannot afford. Meanwhile, another article, “More than half of young Australians are putting off having children.”, What does that mean for future growth? An interview with a young woman reveals her current struggle to repay loans while contemplating home ownership. She even remarks, ‘And you know, I can't even afford grated cheese, that's like $12 a bag these days.’ I believe this is not the environment we wish to create for young people in Australia.

Let's take a second to tap into this scenario. Imagine you wake up on a regular school day. You stuff a cheesie down your mouth, wrap your bag around your shoulder and bolt downstairs only to be met with the shocking sight of your parents at an empty driveway. Seems like a nightmare? Unfortunately, this is a growing reality that thousands of Queenslanders face. Within the last couple of years, Serious Youth Crime has skyrocketed with an increasing number of residents falling victim to vehicle thefts, armed break-ins and violent altercations.

Youth crime in Queensland refers to criminal offences committed by young people under 18 years old, including vehicle theft, burglary, and assault. Although the majority of the youths do not commit any offence, it has been indicated that a minute population (less than 1% of the youth population) commits more than half of all the serious youth crimes. In the past 10 years, crimes including theft of cars and robbery have grown enormously, causing fear among the people, resulting in a heated political discussion. Typically, Australia paid attention to rehabilitation and diversion programs for youth offenders. But over the past few years, the sentiment of the people has changed towards the tough on crime strategies, such as tougher sentencing and the Adult Crime Adult Time policies. The question is no longer one of crime statistics, but simply of the way we react to youth offenders and whether this reaction results in safer communities.

Therefore, Youth Crime is evidently a pressing issue within Australia's society, with incidents soaring. The current approach to responding to Youth Crime is failing, and a tough crime-and-justice reinvestment is needed.

Serious youth crime is rising and harming the community. SBS Insight needs to show that early intervention beats tough on crime.

In recent years, serious crime in Australia has continued to rise, significantly impacting community safety. Crime victims endure not only financial and emotional trauma but also require society to confront the root causes of these issues. As incidents of robbery, car theft, and burglary surge, ordinary citizens find it difficult to feel secure, whether at home or walking the streets. This may lead them to avoid going out at night, worry about the safety of parked vehicles, or even divert funds towards security measures rather than basic living necessities.

A news report titled ‘A Decade of Youth Crime Crisis’ indicates that the number of young people involved in vehicle theft and robbery has surged two to threefold, while those implicated in burglary and assault cases have doubled. This translates to a significantly heightened risk of residential burglary or vehicle theft for the public. Such experiences may lead to financial strain from repair costs and insurance claims, lost working hours, and enduring fear of repeat offences. Official audit records further reveal that a small core group of repeat offenders accounts for the vast majority of youth crime cases, with high-risk repeat offenders causing the most severe harm within their respective communities. This indicates that while the problem is concentrated, its impact is far-reaching; the same offenders repeatedly commit crimes in the same suburbs, leaving residents feeling helpless and believing the system fails to provide protection.

Overall, given the lack of community security, the economic and emotional losses endured by victims, and the stark revelations of youth crime in both statistical data and official reports, we cannot turn a blind eye. We must not dismiss the issue with ineffective slogans like ‘cracking down on crime.’ Instead, SBS Insight should highlight the ineffectiveness of current youth crime prevention methods. The solution lies in adopting more proactive and intelligent strategies, such as the judicial resource reinvestment model, implementing proactive interventions for serious repeat offenders, and thoroughly investigating the triggers behind their criminal behaviour.

The comparison suggests that students are being treated as identical objects rather than unique individuals.

This sentence also use imagery of a factory, creating connotations of mass production, efficiency, and uniformity. Phrases such as “stamped and sorted” imply that the education system categorises students according to predetermined standards, much like products moving through an assembly line. This suggests that students may be expected to conform to the same rules, behaviours, and measures of success.

Emma had been exploring the forest for most of the afternoon when she realised she could no longer see the trail. At first, she thought she could easily find her way back, but every direction looked the same. The tall trees blocked the sunlight, and the forest seemed darker with every minute passing. A feeling of worry began to grow inside her. Instead of panicking, Emma decided to stay calm and think carefully. She remembered that rushing through the forest could make her even more lost. As she listened carefully, she heard the gentle sound of running water in the distance. Believing that the stream might lead to a road or a campsite, she followed it. After walking for nearly an hour, she noticed a small ranger’s cabin near the edge of a forest clearing. Instead of entering it immediately, Emma called out for help from a safe distance. A park ranger soon stepped outside and asked if she was okay. Feeling relieved to see someone trustworthy, Emma explained what had happened. The park ranger gave her some water and guided her back to the main trail. As she finally left the forest, Emma felt grateful and promised herself that she would be more careful on future adventures so she will not get lost again.
