In the garments industry one has variety of options to choose as career. If you want to become a fashion designer, you need to have qualifications and required skills . You have to earn a Bachelor’s degree or certificate in fashion design. It's evidence of your ability.

The responsibility of fashion designers are receive the technical documents and sample from the customer. Then, fashion designer have to hand design a new actual sample. After that, they will bring it for the merchandiser and customer. If the approval, I will design sample by computer and marker making. As for freelance fashion designers, they will create novel designs that meet the needs of customers and develop the country's fashion industry. Skills are very important for a fashion designer. Firstly, creativity is able to help you come up with new ideas in the future. Secondly, you have to master drawing skills. It means that you can sketch your ideas into paper to start the designing. More over, sewing skill is also necessary. In addition, skills basic such as: teamwork, presentation skill, computer skill and good command of English,.. are essential to help you become a successful fashion designer. Especially, you must have 2-3 years of experience related to the fashion industry. A fashion designer are responsible, reliable, self-motivated and creatived. However, this job is also very challenging when the failure of some your designs, because it is not enough to convince the audience or is similar to the previous design.  To be successful in the fashion industry you have to work very hard and constantly looking for new ideas.

Nowaday, the textile industry is very developed, many sewing companies have opened and the working conditions in each company are different. I have just had 5 months of internship in Tinh Loi garment factory and I realize that there are many particular problems related to the working conditions in that factory.

Firstly, it is backache. This problem has 2 reasons: the worker sit in wrong posture. And the workers have to work too long and sit in oneplace. This can lead to health and productivity problems. I suggest that the company should provide fully chair large enough for worker and the chairs should have the backrest and footrest. Beside, the company should have short breaks so the worker can relax and do their exercise.

Secondly, workers spend a lot of time looking for trash bins because the trash bin is located too far from the place of production and there are no trash bin under the working table. So, I suggest that they should provide trash bins under the table of each workerTherefore , it is possible to save time and the worker’s place is always clean and tiny. .

 I hope these problems will be resolved as quick as possible to give workers the best working conditions which can improve the working efficiency and products' quality of the factory

CB length

Center back length

In order to measure the center back length of a shirt, I measure from the center to back, from neck seam to bottom of hem. It’s about 68 cm.

CF length

Center front length

In order to measure the center front length. Measure from high point of shoulder (HPS) which is the highest point at the front of the shoulder, not the collar, to the bottom hem. It’s about 66 cm

Neck width between 2 HPS (Highest position of the shoulder)

Measure the neck width between 2 high point shoulder of the shirt. I measured from the highest position of the right shoulder to the highest position of the left shoulder. it's about 16 cm

Slv length

Sleeve length

To measure sleeve length, measure from the highest point of the shoulder to the wrist. It's about 56 cm.

SS length

(Size seam length)

To measure the side seam of a shirt, measure from armpit to hem. It's about 42 cm.

Waist placement from CB neck

(Waist placement from center back neck)

In order to measure the waist placement from Center Back neck of a shirt, I measure from the middle of the back neck straight down to the most tight position of the waist. It’s about 38 cm.

In order to measure the cuff circunference of a shirt, I place the tape measure around the wrist area and should be about 1cm loose. It’s about 30 cm.

My name is phuong thao And I am responsible for processing the data collected from Accident record form. I have chosen 2 cases which happened in January when our factory is working on the order number SHIRTOO9-2024

The first case is Ms. A. On that day, her hand was pinched by machine needle. The reason was that she forgot to turn off the sewing machine while talking to the colleague. Unfortunately, she pressed the foot controller when her hand was under the needle. At that time, first aid was given immediately in the sewing floor and then she was sent to the Medical center of our factory for further treatment. Luckily, She continued her work on the next day. I would like to suggest one solution for this problem. In order to minimize the cases like this, all workers need to pay attention to turn off all devices when not working for safety purposes.

The second case was Ms B. She burned her hand while she was ironing. She is a new worker, so she has had not much experience and due to her negligence, she was injured. We gave first aid right at the sewing floor and she was then taken to our factory's Medical Center for further treatment. She continued her work the next day.

In conclusion, the data from this form is useful for possible improvements in working conditions. Managers need to provide training for workers, especially for the new staff to avoid unfortunate accidents which will affect productivity and work quality.
