This morning we began creating mind maps for the Essex Local Offer. This mind map included what we needed to do and the guidelines we would have to follow. This would help us as we would know more about what we needed to do with our assignment and what our advert would need to include. After this we began to look at interview techniques and how to keep the audience interested in a topic. We got into groups and filmed a short interview as a practise. This helped us as in the future we will need to be filming interviews for our projects. There is still improvements that will need to be done to make the interview better to watch. Next time we film an interview we will get more shots to keep the audience from getting bored of watching the same shots over and over again. I think I want to look into camera work more as I feel that's some thing I haven't spent as much time in. I can do this by taking the camera out and trying to get interesting shots. I will look into audio next and the best ways I can capture it.

It covered Requirements, Audience, Themes, actions required, skills to develop and barriers. We then wrote about what these are and what it has to do with our project. This helped us as we became familiar with what the project is about and what we will be doing. We can relate this to our previous project and write about problems we had and how to overcome them. The first task was for us to record us saying a tongue twister and then get feedback on how they think we did. I enjoyed this task as it helps with pronounciation and speaking fluently. I now know that I need to speak a bit louder when I am talking. I thought this task wasn't too difficult as I feel like I can talk into the camera quite easily. We then moved onto another task in which we needed to write a script and use a teleprompter as they would in productions. I enjoyed this as it gives me experience and I will know if I want to do it later on. We put them into Premier Pro and began to construct our short video. We placed the main interview into the time line and then added short B-Roll clips above it on the timeline. When I said certain things then it would show the B-Roll clips. We also completed a workshop with the DLSR cameras. We got used to changing the settings on the camera to let in more light. We went out and filmed short 5 second clips using different settings. We changed the ISO and Aperture to let in more or less light.

We deconstructed some Local Offer websites and noted what their website had and didn't have. I looked at Hertfordshire's Local Offer and began to annotate their website. Their website looked very professionally made and included a video. Some local offer websites didn't have videos on their page but they included a lot of information. I thought that this would be difficult for people that go on the website as they may struggle to read all that information and then being able to understand it. I explained what we did yesterday and how we thought it went. I thought that the interviews went well as we got a lot of useful information that we can use for our future project. We also took part in a workshop where we started to test out audio and music. We created a short piece of music to test out Garage Band and to see what we could do with it. We then watched a video without any music or voice over and we needed to create our own voice over and music to fit the video. I had to re-do my edit for the voice over as I lost the rendered video on the Mac. I managed to get caught up with all the practical and I uploaded it to Padlet. I also worked on my questions for our future interview in our project. These questions will be asked to the person in the company and will be recorded for our three and a half minute long advert. Today hasn't been focused on our group work as I needed to catch up with practical. I am aiming to get the pre-production finished by next week and to be out filming the week after. I think we should have enough time to work with and we won't need to rush around to get this finished. The only problem we had today was one of our group members wasn't in so our pre-production was slowed down. Next week we should have the paper work finished and should be ready to book our equipment for the following week. My job roles for this project are video editor and producer. As producer I have been assigning group work to other group members based on their job role. The producer needs to keep everyone and the work that is being completed organised as we will need to show it as evidence later during this project. The video editor will take all the final footage and place them into the editing software. Last week we managed to finish the last of the paper work and begun to get it all sorted out. This stage has taken us a while and he's been difficult. At the start it was difficult to find a place to film our video as there were many groups who are filming at these companies as well in the local area. We called many of them and some didn't reply to us or explained that they were busy. Once we confirmed our dates with the company we then set a time to go and film our interview. We went to the location on Tuesday 21st of February and filmed our interview, we had a problem with our camera but we worked around the issue and managed to get the interview filmed in the end. On Tuesday 22nd Of February we began to edit our video, I cut up the main parts of the video and begun placing it into Premier Pro. During these stages we completed research in order to find what to feature on our website. This stage took us a while as we needed to have a clear plan on our website and all the features of our website. We looked at different fonts and plans for our website. I looked through many fonts to find the ones that I liked and thought would fit the theme of my website. When creating my website I looked through the fonts to find ones that were similar to the fonts I found from my research. I matched them the best I could and I think that it goes along well with my website. I didn't include any audio on my website, I chose to do this as I thought I could get annoying for people when they first go on my website. I also don't have any work to showcase that is based around audio. Any other audio that isn't showing my work being involved on my website wouldn't be effective as the employer just wants to see my previous work and some information about me. During the setup phase of my website I didn't face many issues, I had no major problems with my website. Using Wix was simple and easy to do, I could access my website easily and be able to edit it whenever. Overall the website was easy to set up, easy to edit and I didn't face many problems during the creation of my website. The only problem I came across was not being able to delete part of the page at the bottom.
