The day started sunny, but late, it started to rain. I lived near the school, so every day I walked to my house. I always wondered if it was a good idea to bring an umbrella to school as it was heavy. That day I had brought my umbrella, and I was prepared for that unforeseen occasion; I used it and I didn't get wet. 

How does this relate to the theme?
This relates to the theme because if I wouldn't have had the umbrella that day, I would have gotten wet and probably sick. So we always have to be prepared.

That day I didn't have any band aids in my backpack. My shoes were killing me. I wasn't prepared and suffered the consequences.

My mother told me to take a jacket just in case, because she sensed it was going to be cold.  I listened to her, and took the jacket, although it was very hot. The hours passed and it started to get cold, my mother was right. It was better to take the jacket as you never know what might happen.
