It is a useful tool for recognizing mental disorder types and important treatment intervention, as well as distinguishing between anxiety, mood, substance use, psychosis, and eating disorders. It was helpful to create this because it helped me learn specific signs and symptoms for different disorders, although many disorders have overlapping elements. Working through the prompts helped me to anticipate the traumatic issues that were to come. After watching the documentary and doing research on trauma, I was able to recognize a myriad of traumatic responses that came not only from the victim but from others in her vicinity. It is important for a crisis and trauma responder to be familiar with working towards a solution that is appropriate and considerate of different cultures. Having an absence of cultural education and training can cause a wellness worker to project negative and uniformed assumptions (Wilkins et al., 2022).
