From our discussions we find that we are currently doing many things well when establishing a classroom community.

Some positives that we are currently doing:
-utilizing a lot of student ownership in the creative choices in their projects.
-supporting many different interests, backgrounds and styles in the creating of high level art.
-allowing for students to support students and encouraging supportive collaboration and discussion about works and example art.

Some of our goals moving forward:
- to spend time as a department sourcing additional references from diverse artists from around the globe, both in style and background.
- to create more opportunities for collaborative art creation.

We are going to develop our Performing Arts Presents night into an event. Since this is our first performance of the year, and the only one that includes all disciplines, this will be a great opportunity to ensure that we are forming a performing arts community that will support eachother through out the year. We will create special t-shirts for all performers; hold a tech rehearsal after school the day of the show, then break for dinner in cafeteria. Performance at 7pm.
