Malachi's score at 1 minute was an 8, because he only grimaced and didn't immediately cry, and because although he was mainly pink, he had a slight blue tinge. He now weighs 17.2 lbs, is 26inches tall and is beginning to show us more about his developing personality. He seems to be securely attached to both his caregivers, and will soon be enrolled in daycare. Although there are negatives of daycare such as being influenced by bad kids, not receiving proper care, or possibly develop an insecure attachment to the parents. There are however, much better positives such as being able to create stable bonds with other caregivers, having an opportunity to participate in learning activities, and developing social skills. He now weighs 28.6 lbs, is 35.2 inches tall and is beginning to show more language skills and knows how to communicate with a wide variety of words and phrases. He enjoys going to his daycare program because he gets to participate in many different fun learning activities and play with his new friends. Although he stumbles at time, Malachi has developed more control over his body and fully understands how to use his limbs. Although he is securely attached with an easy temperament, Malachi prefers to be around his parents as he considers them to be his safety net, especially in new and uncharted territory. Although he is still a clumsy 4-year-old, Malachi is able to run, jump, and play all on his own. His favorite activities include coloring (on paper and all over the walls), playing on the playground, and dancing to his favorite songs. He is a very talkative child, always asking questions and telling his parents about his day. He sometimes complains about being away from his parents for a long time or about how some kids don't know how to share their toys in his pre-k class. But, he also brags about all the new friends he has and how much fun he has going down the slides on the playground and learning new things. He has always been extremely intelligent, graduated at the top of his class and receives one of the highest salaries out of all the nurses in the hospital. His job comes with a high level of stress, but he uses his days off to hike with his wife in order to remain relaxed. His two kids have now had kids of their own and he is a proud grandfather of 6. After losing his job and going back to school, Malachi is now employed in a new hospital as a Nurse Anesthetist, making more money than he did before. At this point in life, he is now an expert in his field. Although he loves his career, he plans on being able to retire within the next 10 or so years as the stress of the job and slow decline in cognitive performance have begun taking a toll on his health through the high levels of stress. While enjoying a nice scenic walk behind their resort, Malachi is bitten by a rare and very venomous spider. His wife tries her best to get the attention of a local to call an ambulance to get him medical attention. Unfortunately, his old age, the strong venom of the spider and the delay of medical attention causes Malachi to die. His kids and their families fly in to Australia to hold an intimate funeral ceremony for Malachi. The family had a private service at the top of King's Canyon Rim Walk on January 20, 2098. He lived a very adventurous life, full of traveling, happiness and great work accomplishments. Not only did he touch many peoples' lives, many touched his. He is survived by his loving wife, 2 children and 6 grandchildren.
