She swore to an oath that she should never be with a man. On her third birthday Zeus gave Apollo a buddy light and Artemis a Silver light. Zeus favoured Artemis and promised her to get her anything she wanted. She told him that she wanted a silver bow first. Artemis went to Hephaestus for her bow. He told her that silver is best made in the water. He pointed her to the direction where she could find the cyclopes' to create her bow and arrows that would refill once they were empty. She went to the cyclopes' and they agreed to make her bow. Once they were finished, the leader than proposed to her. Artemis replied by ripping out his chest hair and walking away. She went to Pan next who gladly agreed to give her his best 10 hounds.
