In Israel, anyone can go to school from ages 3-19. For preschoolers and kindergarteners, school is mandatory. Students usually have 30 hours of school time per week. Every school year, school would start on September 1st, and for Elementary kids, school would end on June 30th, while Middle and High school would end on June 20th. Whereas Israel has an average 30 hours of school per week, in Missouri, the average hours of school per week is 33.5 hours.
In the USA, most schools have school buses, where school buses are used everywhere in the USA. However, in Israel there are no school buses that pick up children and drop them off back home.

While many walk alone, or with an older sibling or a parent, others take public buses instead, or ride a bike, or just get dropped off by a parent. Precautions are taken into place for students who walk to home and to school. There are workers called “gold guards” who are dressed in yellow vests that help children cross roads. Unfortunately, many websites cannot find data for Israels today literacy rate, but the last time it was updated was in 1983, being at 91.8%.
