1. What did you learn about your topic that surprised you the most?

I was surprised to learn how early you should start planning for retirement. It's not just about saving money in the later years, but about creating a strategy early on to ensure your savings grow over time. Even small contributions to retirement accounts at a young age can have a huge impact due to compound interest. The idea that starting to plan early can make a big difference in having a comfortable retirement really changed my perspective on financial planning.

2. Provide a real-life example of how this topic is relevant or interesting for you.

Retirement planning became much more relevant to me when I started thinking about my own financial future. In my early career, I wasn’t too focused on saving for retirement, but as I learned more, I realized the importance of getting started now. For example, I opened a retirement account and set up automatic contributions from my paycheck. Even though the amounts are small right now, I know this habit will help me grow my savings over the years, and I feel more confident about my financial future.

3. If you could pass on your knowledge to a family member or friend, what do you think is the most important thing to pass on?

The most important thing I would pass on is the importance of starting retirement planning early, even if it’s just small contributions. The earlier you start, the less pressure you’ll feel as retirement approaches. I would tell them not to underestimate the power of compound interest and the benefit of creating a financial plan early on. It's better to start with small steps than to delay saving and face bigger challenges later.
