I liked how they showed how symbolized the piano was of Elton John and his journey. It showed how his story became to be as an icon in the music industry. And how simple it is to start your path, whether it is through your first piano like Elton or your first sketchbook like an artist.

It was a nice way to advertise the piano through Elton John’s emotion which when he was little he got a piano as his Christmas gift and that he is still using wherever he goes, as if the piano has become a part of his life.

It's a really touching ad for me because I've watched documentaries about the incident. For the ad, at first, I didn't realize what kind of ad it was and thought, 'Oh, maybe it's just a horse or beer commercial (when we saw the video profile picture).' But in the end, we see the horse giving a salute, and two lights appear pointing to the sky, symbolizing 9/11.

This ad makes really good use of the concept of tension and release. Splicing the visuals of Mr W being an asshole in between his exposition about being misunderstood creates a strong sense of tension in the viewer as the video goes on. Viewers are prompted to ask “why is he such an asshole? Why does everyone ignore his behaviour? How can he in good conscience claim to be misunderstood?”

The ad’s use of a realistic interview/documentary style structure also prompts viewers to ask an important question of social conscience: are we ignoring the potential of others around us? Combined with the exaggerated facial features and accent of Mr. W, I think it’s possible the ad’s producers wanted to include this social commentary — if only as a means of leaving a deeper impact.
