         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><p>Purposeful Steps Away From Ableism: Message - It is important to choose words/ use language that is inclusive of disabled people, “words that will create spaces where we can all live our best lives.”</p></li><li><p>99 Problems: the disbelief in the word can’t and how it can shape or form the future; disability is as visual as race</p></li><li><p>Using inclusive language to create space for others is a very simple and essential way to make others feel welcome and shift the way you and those around you think about disabilities.</p></li><li><p>“Can’t”, a word/mindset being one of, if not the greatest barrier to overcome.</p></li><li><p>Language as formative (ex. The struggle for representation.</p></li><li><p>Seale - "Language can lessen the trauma in the world". Changing our language can bring people together and to give EVERYONE a voice. We must empower, rather than limit like when we label. Changing language takes little effort but makes a HUGE difference</p></li><li><p>We must recognize our roles in ableism, as it has been embedded into our socialization.</p></li><li><p>TABs was a new term and it separates disabled people and non-disabled people into a range of abilities everyone has.
