With that being said, these infrastructures surely take up enough energy and electricity all around to be considered fully functioning in the rapid growth of the aforementioned city's economy.

Investing in solar panels and thermal power establishments alike can properly contribute to the further enhancement of Pasig City all while the urbanization is a fast-paced process. I would like to choose target area 7.2 - RENEWABLE ENERGY, as renewable energy itself helps reduce in energy and fossil fuel uses alike. When these substances are reduced to an extent, it'll help lessen carbon dioxide emissions. Thus, on a brighter note, Pasig City can help attain the greener city status when they invest on affordable and renewable energy sources like these.

To achieve clean water and sanitation, it is necessary to invest in clean-up. Also to restore sites to pre-spill quality levels, making it cleaner than it was after spills.

It is also important to invest in water and sanitation projects or infrastructure in regions that mostly go unnoticed. Employees and their families must be guaranteed to have enough access to clean drinking water as well as adequate sanitation for themselves. This also calls to raise awareness about certain hygiene practices.

Pasig River is the main body of water that travels through Metro Manila deemed to be the Philippines' industrial and commercial nerve center. Pasig River has always been more polluted than ever. Even in comparison to the notorious rivers in the world (notably India's Ganges River), Pasig River's condition had gained international attention.

The particular condition of this river has been presented in a study published in the Science Advances, a peer-reviewed journal by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The study shows where most of the plastics floating in oceans originate. It has been found that among twenty countries labeled as major contributors to the wastes, the Philippines earned the top spot.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has classified the river as a Class C. Class C rivers are useful in growing fish and other marine sources.

The Pasig River had ended up dead due to many factors along with rapid industrialization processes. One of its main factors includes its location where increased economic activities actually led to its fateful deterioration, and eventual demise.

More in depth details can be read here.

✦ SDG 6: To ensure improvement of water quality, considering mainly that of The Pasig River's and other bodies of water concerned.

One of SDG 7's target areas is to improve water quality, wastewater treatment, and safe reuse (particularly target 6.3).

Considering the worsening state of The Pasig River and reiterating the rapid industrialization and urbanization processes the city is going through (accompanied with increased infrastructure constructions and economic activities), it's high time Pasig has to implement projects that provide focus on the clean-up and rehabilitation of the river itself. Plastic wastes and other materials populate the body of ocean. 33% hails from industrial wastes such as manufacturing facilities like distilleries, chemical and metal plants alike.

Pasig has to be more wary of the deteriorating condition of the river. To ensure the improvement of the water quality, they must focus first on improving sanitation facilities all around the areas. An effective flush system that leads to a safe sewer may help. Promotion of water filters to be used for effective water treatment to ensure safe drinking water for everyone, as well as the use of plastic bottles that can be exposed to sunlight for further improvements.

On top of this, with such industrialization processes going on, Pasig has to be careful in establishing concrete buildings for economic activity increase. There should be alternatives in this case, or a better plan that would not compromise the current situation of The Pasig River.
