The consequences of equality in Ender's case is conformity and along with that comes the loss of his youth due to premature maturity.

"But shouldn't they still act like children? They aren't normal. They act like – history. Napoleon and Wellington. Caesar and Brutus." (Card 7.10)

"Like children fighting with grown-ups."(Card 3.122)

Ender along with most humans are so willing to conform because of a social stand point, such as trying to make friends or worrying what people would think about him/them.
In Ender's case there was also another variable which was his sister. Keeping People we love out of harms way is also another thing that makes humans so vulnerable to conformity.

Warfare is one of the most important themes in Ender's Game, because if there was no war against the buggers then Ender would have never went to Battle School, and if there was no War then the government would have never allowed Ender's parents to have a third child...
No War=No Ender...

"I have to win this now, and for all time, or I’ll fight it ever day and it will get worse and worse." (Card 1.78)

Ender is justifying him wrecking Stilson and he is beginning to realize that he was born for war and must end the problem now. This is also foreshadowing the future problem with the buggers.

"Ender felt sick. He had only meant to catch the boy’s arm. No. No, he had meant to hurt him." (Card 4.66)

Ender is also battling an internal war with himself. Although he knows he is preparing for war he feels guilt within himself and decides to conform and continue to prepare for warfare

"Much of Ender's Game details the lives of children, and at every point they are contrasted with those of the adults around them. Although the adults often manipulate or control the children, this is not always the case. Peter and Valentine, two kids, manage to dominate the worldwide political system through their control of adults. Ender, who does not wish do exert influence over anyone, is brutally manipulated by adults, yet even they are aware of his superior intelligence. Children in this book are smaller than adults in size, but that is about the only difference." (SparkNotes)
“I don't care if I pass your test, I don't care if I follow your rules. If you can cheat, so can I. I won't let you beat me unfairly - I'll beat you unfairly first." (Card 167)
"Children must be taken seriously, for they are capable not only of killing, manipulating, and hating—the worst features of adults—but also of creating and helping."
(SparkNotes)

I am suggesting that Ender is predestined to be great and succeed, much like today in our recent election. Now am I referring to Ender as President Donald Trump......No but they both just win at everything, from a war against a race like the buggers or something much worse, "a twisted politician like Hillary Clinton''.(CBS) Although some may not like Ender or Trump because they are predestined to greatness that's just another problem they get to succeed in by overcoming.

In Ender's Dystopian word child abuse is accepted and looked over. Often throughout his life children are beat, broken, and humiliated. If Ender's case was happening in today's society then every one of those children would be sent to a foster parent or adopted by a family that would take care of them because of "The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families gives states the responsibility to intervene in cases of suspected child abuse, including investigation, removing a child from the care of an abuser, educational programs and providing caseworkers, foster care or adoption."
