         <description><![CDATA[<div>During the years 1000- 1300 the Roman Catholic church was the center of medieval life. The church provided religious services, community activities, entertainment, and education for some people. Many people also turned to the church for an explanation for world events, storms, disease, and famine. Since many people were in the church, most people were concerned about getting into heaven. Because of all the faithful people during this time some people refer to it as the time of faith.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the beginning Christians were murdered for their beliefs but in 313 AD the ruler Constantine allowed the christians to practice their religion freely. Later the church gained much econimic and political power. Soon it was one of the biggest landowners at the time. I the year 1073 a pope was elected, Pope Gregory. He was in a very high class. But when the king Henry IV was mad at the pope, Gregory threw Hnery out of the church. The king lost some power from the people of the church, and begged for mercy. Three days later he was forgived.<br><br>Questions:<br>1.)          <description><![CDATA[<div>Many christians wanted to go on pillgramages because they showed their devoution to God. While some went for their God, others went for wealth, or even adventure. A man by the name Geoffrey Chaucer wrote a book " Canterbury Tales" . This book was about stories of pillgrimages. Many Christians would read these stories as they journed on their own pillgramage<br><br>Questions:<br>1.)          <description><![CDATA[<div>Many artist created art for religion. Lots of artist expressed their version of belief on cathedrals. Some decided to incorporate Gargoils in gothic cathedrals which were also lined with detailed pillairs.. When making cathedrals many people were immedietatly inspired. Most cathedrals were built during the 1150s and 1400. Cathedrals were signs of Christian devoution.</div>]]></description>

These monks spent their lives in prayer. they would copy books by hand, And by doing this they could contuniously learn about the past and ga in knowledge. Women who did not wish to marry would become nuns. they did the same work as monks.</div>]]></description>
