I told you, don't you ever put your hands on a woman'" (Spiegel & Grau 5).

Final Environmental Impact:

The author Wes Moore was impacted by his environment because he already had causes of trauma at a young age that started some future events that took place in his life. Wes watched his father, Westly, die right in front of him and he truly never recovered from that incident. After the move to the Bronx from Maryland he found himself getting involved in street crime and meeting new friends who would soon get them arrested. Growing up in this environment effected him and his entire personality. He didn't do well in school and needed to be sent away so he could realize how important it was to be respectful of his mother and do good in school. After Wes got sent to military school, he improved and was finally becoming to act like a responsible human being. Being sent to military school was one of the best decisions Joy, Wes's mother made for him. Military school also provided many great opportunities for Wes like being able to attend Johns Hopkin school and earn his GED. It also provided him the opportunity to complete a school semester in South Africa. Being in the military environment impacted Wes from the beginning and helped him turn into the intelligent and respectful man he turned out to be.
