This TV show has SEVENTEEN SEASONS. It appeals to all four hyperspacial, intergalactic rules but places an especially heavy emphasis sexual conflict.
But all four themes are there: conflict, sex, the unusual, and tragedy. There are characters that die tragically and unexpectedly, and an abundance of unusual, attention-gripping medical cases. This TV show is the epitome of the four rules and is actually the first thing that came to my mind in class.

This movie has all four themes as well, although they are less in-your-face. It centers around the relationship between Wesley and Buttercup, taking both characters through very odd and unusual circumstances (such as encountering rodents of unusual size.)

This song caters to all four themes. There is conflict between two people who were formally in a relationship, both bitterly taking about their pain that was evoked at its demise. The unusual aspect of this song can be seen in the music video, as the broken couple sing to one another while their bodies are painted in order to blend in with the backdrop behind them.
