As an educator bullying lives in our backyard and it is imperative that we know and understand the idea of bullying.  As a middle school teacher, it is imperative to know that most bullying happens while students are in middle school. It is also important to know that the long term affects of bullying affect the victim, bystanders, and even the bully themselves on negative ways. 

In the state of Texas Schools that receive federal funding are required by federal law to address discrimination on a number of different personal characteristics. 

As a future principal, school environment plays a large role in student success. In relation to bullying it is important to create bullying free environment so that students feel safe and can learn comfortably and parents can send their kids to school without having to worry. 

The way for me as a principal to do that would be by being proactive, building relationships, and implementing professional developments for my staff so that we can all better ourselves with information that will prevent bullying. In a time where bullying can learn to depression, grade drop, and even violence it is important that schools make it hard for bullies to feel comfortable to bully .
