In the history of music we can find this music element in almost every successful song. So some big questions that we want to ask are "Where did that come from?", "What is sudden shift?", and "How does it affect listeners?". And now we get into one of the most significant and mysterious element of music, the variance that we enjoy, the fluctuation that we can’t really miss: sudden shifts. By sudden shifts I don’t really mean only the immediate shifts in a music type, something with a great variety of notes and instruments. But also, the immediate shifts in tone, dynamics, lyrics and the emotions as well. Sudden shifts are usually an unexpected development to the listener where the shift embodies its own type of meaning of something different than what the song originally portrayed. It really matters to possess some sudden diverse in music different from its original path as it can leave a great impact in the audience’s perspectives how they listen and remind that specific music. A great example of "Sudden Shift" is "The death of you and I" by Issac Maria, which can bring you from peace and deep to the craziest emotion just by listening to. Or another example is "Turn down for what" by DJ Snake, which can bring you from really exciting emotion to a resting moment and than come back to the even more exciting emotion by just a "Drop" in his EDM song. This is the reason why everyone remember this song lyrics and why it's played in almost every bar and club.

They can give energy to listeners by going from a soft note to suddenly changing to a high note. They have the ability to bring a listener down to a deep feeling by changing from high note and drop to lower note. We can easily see the effect of it and many artists have been using “sudden shift” in today world music, and I think even in future, this timeless musical element will still be very effective and used a lot by artists and composers in music world in the future.
