Caldwell only wanted British Immigrants.<br> <br>In 1945 he became the first minister for immigration. Caldwell went to europe to allow Holotovs to come to Australia. He used the beautiful baits to lure people into coming overseas.</div>]]></description>

The O'kefe family were informed they had to leave but the church and the society strongly argued and were able to stay. Labour and Caldwell were dumped and Robert menses replaced him.<br><br>In the 1950's southern Europeans were also welcomed and the 75% percent rule was introduced.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Disadvantages: The children all missed their parents. They only had limited education and were very poorly set up for adult life. Five institution were blacklisted due to unqualified staff. The home office also were eager to blacklist Molong and Fairbridge Pinjarra but were unsuccessfull because of the royal patronage of Fairbridge.<br><br>The Australian Government ignored the Ross comitees list and kept sending children to blacklisted schools. Thousands of former child migrants fought for their country.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Advantages: child immigrants were thought to be a solution so plenty of charities were held. They were each given a wooden trunk, a bible and some durable boots. Inside their trunks they had a mixture of new summer and winter clothes. The girls all got their own straw bonnet to wear for church and had ribbons for the occasion.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Advantages: 7,000 children were sent to Australia and were given injections. They would ride horses to school, chase kangaroos and do thing they had never imagined.<br><br>Disadvantages: the children were found destitute or homeless in crowded cities or rural areas. At the start children were sent out in groups of 300 with supervisors but it became less and less and the scheme ended in 1967.</div>]]></description>
