I think that chapter 1 is like really harsh because john was barred alive by the blizzard wow that is crazy and it says in the summery it says John Hale already survived one brutal Dakota winter, and now he's about to experience one of the deadliest blizzards in American history so he already survived a blizzard!!!

And john is going in the end of the chapter to kill king rattler.
