As a future instructor, I believe that these competencies are all essential because they can be used to empower students and help them become better informed. They help foster critical thinking skills that lead to higher academic success and lifelong learning. They are used to equip students with the important skills that help them navegate through large amounts of information and promote responsible digital usership as well as good online behavior.

Digital art isn't "real art"

It is a very common misconception that digital art isn't real in the art community. Often times art classes don't allow student to use digital art programs for multimedia projects, because it isn't a "real" way to create art. This is incredibly wrong and often spread throughout the internet.

Art can be full of misinformation, just because it is purely imaginary. The artist can create whatever they please which can lead to the viewer wondering what is real, and what is imagined from inside the artists head.

Why Students Might Believe False Information:

Students can believe false information, the same way old people believe everything they see on Facebook. Students could lack the critical thinking skills needed to evaluate the sources credibility, they could be influenced by peer pressure, authority figures, or social media algorithms. Misinformation sometimes aligns with previous biases or beliefs, making it more believable and easy to accept without questioning.
