These are my takeaways after reading and watching the group videos for Topic 9 - The Philippine Educational System, Issues, and Solutions. Numerous issues with the Philippine education system must be addressed, but our Department of Education should examine and reconsider its current policies. DepEd has already taken several steps to address these issues. There is the Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) program, which aims to use children's native language in their early stages of education, and the K-12 program, which aims to produce globally competitive graduates.

The number of students in a class demonstrates that many of our country's schools lack facilities. If you go to some public schools, you will see classes with 70 students. It is a common thing in the Philippines.

Many high school graduates go straight to work in society. However, most of our high school graduates lack the skills employers require. DepEd is addressing this issue by incorporating Senior High School into the K-12 program, which aims to prepare future graduates for work.

The current administration is investing significantly in our educational system, which may determine our country's future. And, to solve some problems, they may need to make crucial decisions during this process. We must not forget to remind them that the quality of education received by young Filipinos must be prioritized above all else. And the government and its constituents must work together to ensure they receive the best education possible.
