First impressions from the business :

Some of my first impressions upon arrival at Greenhedges day nursery was how clean and well kept each room was and the equipment they used for things such as water bottles, bowls and much more.In addition i also noticed how interactive and engaging the nursery were with the children and if there was any issues the staff met any of those children’s needs.Furthermore i began to notice the particular toys suitable for each age group.Within the nursery n to only are there separate rooms for the different age groups but also gardens for them too play outside. In each garden contained different things that would keep the child of that particular age group entertained for a longer period of time. For example for the sunflowers(ages2-3) they had things such as pedal and push bikes to help them gain balance.they also had things such as Lego blocks which could help them with their motor skills in learning how to push and pull the bricks together.Occassionally the staff would bring out water and place small sea animals in for the children to explore and learn the names with. Not only did this cool the children down it helped them learn names of difficult animals. For the 0-2 garden there where less around as at this is a crucial age in which babies learn balance. In this garden contain things such as slides and balls again to hep them with their hand eye coordination. For the bluebells garden (ages4+) it is decorated with hints such as a wet kitchen and an indoor playhouse.

What’s the store service training like :

Staff must be completely qualified in early years before joining Greenhedges or they can join as an apprentice in which the room leaders and managers will show them how to work.this will require different coursework tasks such as paediatric first aid training, food safety and handling and simply how to change a nappy and make a bottle.

Meet and greet ?

The nursery staff met me and the other parents with a smile and even greeted me at the door.Carol the manager showed me around and made me feel very comfortable as a starter.

Service standards :

Some of the service standards that the business expect is that when the staff are out with the children that they remain curteous and polite.Another one of their service standards is to ensure that they come to work clean and tidy and looking professional.Carol mentioned that this helps the staff have a better work ethic and come to work with the correct inset.

Complaints/issues :

As a part of the procedures both Carol and Sarah deal with complaints. If a parent has an issue or a complaint the procedure is for the parents speak to child’s key worker first and formally sort out the dispute. However if a parent is still unsatisfied with this they will then book a date and time for the parents and owner too meet.Whilst discussing this issue they will log this. This goes then in a complaints policy which is logged and kept for a few years or until the child leaves.
