         <description><![CDATA[<p>I was not comfortable Teaching year 9 level this year and still am not. would rather go back to teaching year 7 please. </p><p>i found it challenging to engage my learners and did have lots of group dynamic issues that only settled once a learner left OJC, i asked for support but never really got what i was asking for in terms of support.</p>]]></description>

I provide the context or prompt/activities and then the learners will express their understanding and application of each wall separately. I also make sure I give time to unpack where each dimension may overlap as well, normalising that often the dimension doesn't exist  alone.</p>]]></description>

         <title>Found Year 9 too challenging</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I was not comfortable with the topics at this year level and asked for support several times but felt i didn't get what i needed, did lots of self investigation but needed more one on one time with experts in this level. In term 4 i combined classes and was much better to teach and plan collaboratively but we self organised this. i do not want to teach year 9 and 10 only junior please.</p><p>more time to collaborative plan Hauora would be beneficial moving forward.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Some students let me know about their comfortability around speaking and discussing topics in groups or whole class - even with people they trust. So incorporating activities where learners could do work by themselves and they did not need to be a vocal member of the discussion. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>It takes time, I build my classes in a way that we take the 'heavier' topics later in the year once the norms, respect and expectations have been set. I work hard on normalising the language that some may find uncomfortable, and have also worked alongside a female coach and split classes for the odd lesson here and there. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think working in LC pairs could really help staff. This doesn't mean students are in one large group with two teachers, but just someone in the same year level that you can plan together. </p><p>But, one large group could mean a larger focus on students, as mini-lessons could be utilised for more defined learning and teaching for certain groups of learners, discussions could be better with smaller groups etc.</p>]]></description>
